Amanda Avila we had to start bringing food with us as my husband is diabetic so we have to eat healthfully anyway. So rather than going to a restaurant, we have a small cooler with us.

My favorite routine to save money on food is to make spaghetti sauce out of all of my bits of leftovers. We save EVERYTHING. EVERY BITE. At the end of the week, all of the leftovers go into the blender. I take this mixture and cook it on high for twenty minutes, add well-cooked, quality ground beef, and store brand sauce. The secret is to use lots of garlic, onion, and Italian spices. The sauce sometimes has a unique flavor but it's always yummy. We serve it over every type of pasta but whole wheat pasta from Aldi is our favorite. No more waste!

one of the things I do, is to buy a cheaper container of coffee and and better kind of coffee and put them into a large bowl and add cinnamon and I use a whisk to mix it all together and I put it all into gallon zip locks in the freezer so it stays fresh. it's really good for you to have cinnamon daily, so that's how I get mine but also it only costs about $12 (depending on what kinds you buy) to make like 3 or so months worth of yummy coffee.

I’m from Canada where groceries are more expensive. One way I am saving money. My husband loves his bread products. He would buy 1-2 loaves a week, which at $2-3 per loaf adds up. Sometimes he would buy at Dollar Tree for $1.25/loaf. I have now gone back to baking buns on a weekly basis (used to do this when the kids were young). I have a home based business, so have no problem working this into my schedule. It’s also healthier for both of us (our last few slices of bread sat in the cupboard for four weeks without molding). All part of reducing our grocery bill. A 10kg bag of flour is only $7, which will make countless batches of buns. And I’m stocked up on yeast, so I’m good there. We had a shortage for a while.

LET’S GIVE! I love being a giver. I get it from my Mom. I grew up watching my Mom be such a giver. She passed away in 2013 unexpectedly but each day I try to emulate her beautiful heart ❤️ love all your videos Kate. One of my favourite frugal tips goes with your breakfast one - make your own COFFEE ☕️ at home and bring it with you where ever you go. Hot, cold, iced whatever 😀👍🏻

My advice would be try to avoid impulse buying and listen to others. For instance, I moved into my home in October of last year. I needed a filing cabinet for personal info. The junk drawer wasn’t cutting it anymore. My house is small so I wanted one that looked like furniture and coordinated with my style. Found one online that I loved back in November for $660. Showed it to my dad last weekend, he thought it would go with everything but advised checking out other places because I could be paying for particle board. I went to the Amish furniture store and found one that looked similar to what I wanted and saved $166. Another example is that I have a 12 year old son whose bedroom is a shrine to the Boston Celtics. I found a lamp from Pottery Barn Teen that I was going to buy for his birthday next month. It costs $159. Would’ve looked perfect in my opinion. Son didn’t like it. His dad took him to Home Goods and son chose one that cost $50. I think it’s ugly but it saved me money and my son is proud of his purchase. Love all your videos. Thanks so much!

For sure Lets Give! It is when you give, you truly realize how Blessed you are! There was a time in my life when I was so broke that I had less than $20 to lest 2 weeks. It was either put gas in my car to get me to work OR buy a few Groceries. (The struggle was real) Somehow I made it! Thankfully I learned how to Budget and live comfortably. At the age of 46 I went on Disability, so it was even more crucial to Budget! My husband & I live within our mean, if not below it is so important to do that because of out future when he retires.

The way I budget is over estimate bills. You could ask about a budget plan for energy.or,if able, solar panels. Blankets or heavy blackout curtains on windows, year round.cooler in summer, warmer in winter. Cellphone.go with pay as you go.such as simplink,or metro pcs.choose plan best suited for you.the bill is the same every month.

I like your thinking a lot. I look for savings everywhere I can find them. Check for lower house and car insurance every year, limit use of utilities in every way I can. I've done some extreme things there, like flip the fuse off at the fuse box for the stove when not using it. I cut my electricity bill by 76% one year, got excited about that and managed to shave off another 11%. Calculated I use about 1/15th the average utilities as most folks. I could go on but this response would be 3 hours long! So enough for now. Would love to hear other ways you save!

Hello from the Philippines. I used to be a spender rather than a saver. But I acquired this saving habit when I was single & still working. I have been keeping track of my expenses for many years now. Then i run through them every now & then. We are also building up our emergency fund. After 30 years of living in our house, it's only now that we had it repainted & made major renovations. Only now, after sending our only daughter to med school. Now she is already a medical dr. Now it's time to save up for retirement...Btw, I follow ur channel. Tnx a lot for all ur frugal tips. 😘💕😊

Great video! One routine I have used for a long time is transferring savings to a separate outside savings account on each payday (twice a month for example). The value for me is I have to make a conscious effort to "unwind" the transaction and makes it much more likely that the funds will stay put.

Do you have a 99 cents store in your area? It's where i buy a lot of my produce. I'm hoping for an Aldi to be here where I live in AZ soon. My daughter works in a local grocery store and gets the digital specials for us. :) Having a household budget is sooooooo important when you are a homeowner. I can't stress that enough to others. Easy donating is so important too. I do when I can. Most times its at the grocery store at the check out, and of course to the local thrift store. Every Christmas season we always give to the Salvation Army. tfs 💗 Have a good weekend💗

Budgets for going out need to be big sometimes. Tomorrow my husband and I are getting the train to London to meet up with family. We are only 45 mins from London and even then the train ticket will be £75 for us both. Then car parking near to the station is £6. So it’s not far off £100 before we even get to London we will be going for pizza in the city for lunch - probably about £50. Then going to one of the wonderful museums and whilst it’s free I’ll make a donation. Of course there are cheaper past times but transportation in the uk is crazy expensive-and unreliable! Thanks for always being a lovely shining light Kate ❤

You’ve got me addicted to your Friday and Monday Videos. I always wonder how difficult it is to come up with new ways to save money. I am really attracted to saving on the food expense since I have been a bit of a waster in the past. I also love the “Live Below your Means” topic . I need to be reminded to pay myself first every week. Let me ask you this! Do you feel that paying extra on my mortgage principal is equivalent to paying myself first. It is lowering the interest I pay while lowering the principal. Something in me prefers to focus on that as opposed to adding to my emergency fund or savings. Thank You Kate! Glad to be a part of your K Squad!!

LET’S GIVE! Yes, I will “round up” for the causes they ask for, but more than that, I try to keep dollars on me, and it is my objective to give away one almost every day. It could be to someone begging by the side of the road, the guy selling the newspaper that I don’t want-I just give him a dollar and tell him to keep the paper, a dollar tip to the gas station attendant when I fill the tank, or sometimes if I just see someone collecting cans-cuz if you’re collecting other people’s cans, you REALLY need the money! Of course, I don’t make it every day, so sometimes I will give away two or three dollars in a day, but the point is to look for someone that looks like even a dollar will be a blessing to...and almost invariably you will receive a “God bless you” in return, or a very sincere thank you. Sometimes I give a candy bar or some treat along with the dollar. It’s fun!!
