Sheena’s lessons are gold! People are always shocked when I say I treated my teenage cashier/barista job with deep respect and service. Why wouldn’t I? I chose to work there! Why am I punishing customers for MY decision to work there? Because of the deep respect I had for my position, I received respect back 💜. I didn’t experience the challenges my co-workers experienced

I always loved restaurant work! I chose places that were high energy and more of the luxurious side. I absolutely radiated on the job. And I made more money than my coworkers, people were very generous.

U r right. I fired 2 house helps bocoz they were so angry all the time and they used to shout back at me if i politely asked them to correct their mistake, for eg. She was dropping all the flour on the ground while baking. I asked her to take out in less quantity, and she yelled back that she doesnt have time. I was so taken aback. I said im not talking abt yor time, iam talking abt all the flour u r dripping on the sink, floor kitchen counter and containers. She yelled back abuses.. i told her to leave immediately and collect her wages next week. Now iam better off alone than with a toxic person around. Il find a new help n only hire based on her energy.

I totally agree! As a hairstylist myself I have worked with a lot of stylists who are complaining. I move away from them, and found a space in downtown Santa Monica where I have private space and and a garden! ❤

YES, I would LOVE to hear stories regarding Sheena's wisdom!!!! Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! God works in mysterious ways. Yesterday, I had this issue with an employee at Walgreens who mistreated me and snapped at me for not knowing their payment procedures. Her tone was coarse, and her energy was unkind, all over my misunderstanding about how I could purchase my items. I was shocked at her disrespectful treatment towards me and sarcastically apologized for not knowing that I could pay in different ways (cash and credit) in one transaction. Having shopped at that store before, I was aware of this employee's negative energy. I had witnessed her treating others rudely but not doing anything (and I felt terrible about not doing or saying anything on their behalf). After she mistreated me, I called customer service and reported her. I didn't tell family or friends what happened, but her behavior was still on my mind today. I was thinking of other stores I could go to to avoid her rude disposition. This video is like heaven-sent. Thank you, Mina! This discussion came at the right time.

Well, duh. They're working minimal wage jobs from 9-5 maybe even longer. They're paid by the hour and have to deal with nasty customers all day and no, the money the company makes is not THEIR money. They aren't paid the amount the customers spend that day.

Mina, this was timely. Last weekend my sisters and I went away to a hot springs spa/hotel. We went for lunch. The waitress did not have many tables and yet she took 25 minutes to bring coffee, another 15 minutes after that to take our orders, and 40 minutes for our eggs Benedict to arrive. An older waiter ended up bringing us our food, cleaned a bunch of tables, brought people drinks, etc. and he did more in ten minutes than she did in an hour and a half. She moved slowly and seemed surprised when we calmly told her why we wouldn’t be leaving a tip. I’ve noticed a huge decline in good service lately.
