Pugneys Light Railway - in Pugneys Water Park, Wakefield, England UK- April 2019 - I needed to pick up some very old model steam engines to repair from Bob Brocklehurst who runs Pugneys Light Railway in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom so I took my video camera along and here is the result............................... / keithappleton

It's amazing how the British people have grown since this railroad was built! Kidding aside, it's nice to see all those people out enjoying this pretty park.

If ever you come down to the west country, Moors Valley Railway is a must, a very well setup railway, its hoped Poole Park Railway will reopen which is very similar to Pugney's and we have also the Gartell Light Railway which operates along part of the trackbed of the much loved Somerset and Dorset lines and I am sure a steam man like yourself would love to see what they are up to at Shillingstone or Midsomer Norton and even admire the bridgework that is seen in the Titfield Thunderbolt's opening scenes. Of course there is the Dorset steam fair but that has been ruined by commercialisation and priced it out of the frugal reaches of someone like meself on disability :(

Thank you for that, Mr. Appleton. We quite often drive past Pugneys on the way into Wakey and I never knew about their railway. Looks like an ideal place to take our grandkids. :)

what a lovley little railway! theres a fairly large 7.25 inch gauge railway near my grandparents called the Swanley New Barn Railway. If your ever in kent i would reccomend checking it out, its an odd place with mental trackwork but a very nice day out. :)

The mini-train at local zoo had to lower speed down to 2-3 mpg because the teenagers operating it kept derailing. The track needs service too.

For some reason I cannot watch your videos in full screen on my iPad I cannot work out if it is a problem with KZfaq or my iPad but I still enjoy your videos. What sort of steam engine parts did you pick up?

I don't know much about how your iPad is setup, but I picked up some very old bits of steam plants to rebuild . . . . . not yet though as I have more than enough projects going on ......

I can understand why adults find loco's fascinating but why do kids love them so much ? They can't possibly understand anything about them or how they work, they must look very unusual to a child and totally different to anything else but I've never heard a kid say they didn't like them
