During the north's half term week I paid a visit to the Kirklees Light Railway, where they were running their two train 'Green' timetable, featuring two steam locomotives working trains every 40 minutes over the 15 inch gauge 3 mile line.
In service were:
-KLR 0-6-4ST No. 2 "Badger"
-KLR 0-4-0+0-4-0T No. 4 "Owl"
-KLR Diesel Hydrolic No. 5 "Jay" (on works trains only, and sadly not featured in this video)
The two steam engines spent the day hauling the the two sets of six carriages up and down the 3 mile line.
Shots in this video:
-Badger runs round and is turned at Shelley
-Badger runs round and is turned at Clayton West
-Owl arrives at Clayton West
-Owl departs Skelmanthorpe for Shelley
-Owl arrives at Skelmanthorpe with a train for Shelley, before Badger arrives with a train for Shelley
-Badger shunts the coaches into the running shed after the final train
-Owl arrives into Clayton West with the final train of the day.
Enjoy!
