I laugh so hard on that part, YOU WILL BE SILENT and when everyone went silent, just hilarious. To be honest, I was looking forward to hear Bortus sing, but WOW what a buzzkill during that interruption. What a fun episode, can't wait for more..

The thing about The Orville is that you can actually relate to the characters. You feel as if you're there as part of the crew chilling with your fun average colleagues for a "company event" night. That's what makes it feels so real.

Dr Galactose Still wish Morn had the very last line on _DS9_ . I always thought that they could have had the scene with Quark use the line about "The more things change, the more they stay the same." Then have Morn say that something like, "Actually, that's a human saying." Cut to Quark, about to retort. Roll credits.

The reason that I don't watch Discovery anymore is because there are no likable characters, whereas The Orville is full of likable characters that we care for and want to see more of. A big thank you to the whole Orville team for a great show.

Everyone on the Discovery show is so disagreeable its ridiculous. Can they all stop having stupid arguments over everything please? I think the show seems too hard to believe that humans would be so disagreeable as that. Many of Burnham's friends from her previous ship completely ignored her when she came on board Discovery. I just don't think I'd abandon my friends like that. Then in the latest episode there is a scene where Stamets is getting so angry at Tilly because she said he called her Captain when he did say that and who would get into an argument on something as ridiculous as whether you called someone Captain or not? I think The Orville seems to be a very realistic show where human behaviour is protrayed in a realistic way, a lot more realistic than the previous Star Trek shows and thats a lot to do with the humour which very much seems to fit into the show and make the human interactions more realistic because people tell jokes all the time and aren't completely serious.

So far as her former friends are concerned Burnham was a mutineer that helped start a war they might not live through and got their captain killed, tends to burn a lot of bridges. Stamets is having a mental breakdown caused by use of the spore drive which is why he flew off the handle, and why Tilly was staring at him like "WTF?"

And just to add... I do watch ST Discovery, but it aint got NADA on The Orville! This show is such a pleasure to watch! The characters are ace, the script is hilarious and at the same time, bringing up rather interesting subjects. I love the alien designs... I do not have a single bad or negative word to say about this show. This people, this is entertainment. Nuff said!

Please turn Kelly's cover of the song into a full song, she really rocks this song, loved every second of it. I've checked the original song from Journey and it doesn't even come close to the sheer epicness of her voice. She made the first seconds of this episode really addictive, please make it a full song. My god, Adrianne Palicki is freaking awesome.

She did sing it well, but I found it odd that a 20th century song would still be popular in the 25th century. That would be like having a party today where you get together with your friends and sing a song from the 17th century. Most wouldn't recognize it, and even those who did would find it odd.

I can see what you mean but that's assuming songs from the 17th century are obsolete and nobody listens to them today anymore. There are plenty of radio stations playing classical music and old songs passed down from one generation to another that are deeply imbedded in culture. And if you think about it, we'll we have another Mozart, Sebastian Bach, Michael Jackson or Beatles in the next 500 years? Will electric guitars and drums become useless in the future? I think that's hard to know. Some songs, instruments and genres are just unique on their own and manage to survive trough time because they are often rediscovered by future generations that are not satisfied with the mainstream music of their time. I think the same applies with books and movies. In this case we have an old rock song from Journey reinvented in the show with the performance of a female singer. I found it terrific.

I suppose you have a good point. I just can't help but find it odd that the crew is always listening to music and watching shows from the 20th or 21rst centuries. It's as if that time period is considered the greatest time ever for human pop culture and nothing culturally important happened over the next 400 years.

I think my metric for determining if I want to be a part of a crew is whether or not they would be willing to have something like a karaoke party. If they aren't willing to have some fun downtime then it's probably not a very good work environment for me.
