I had a stroke in September and NO ONE wants to talk about diet. I've had to take MY health into MY hands and reverse my issues with the help of internet doctors. It's literally that bad.

Last week I had a day in ER because of a suspected broken wrist and collar bone. They wanted to operate on both injuries. Huh? Apart from confusing prognoses, I fully recognize now that it has become an industry and not a health service. Needless to say, i just went home and practice and care.

Calories in calories out does not work, I eat low carb, no grains , no sugar, not anything man made. I take in less than 2000 calories a day, I burn 3000 calories a day, run, walk ten miles a day, been the same weight for a year, 77 years old , feel like 50. Losing fat and putting on muscle. Thanks to many people on KZfaq I feel like I have found the fountain of youth. I eat two meals a day, fast about 17 hours a day, never hungry, eat only to make sure I get my nutrition needs. I just found out something, eating the same calories, but now I’m fasting three hours longer, 19-20 hours, and I’m staring to lose weight again.

My better half is a T1 and has been since he was 18. He has had numerous doctors, and not one of them said to watch his carb intake. In fact, one of his endocologists told him not to worry about what he ate; she would control it with insulin. By the way, she was a good 75 pounds over weight. We started this WOE on Feb. 1 of this year. In three months, his A1C went from 7.1 to 6.2. We have both lost 20 pounds. Thank you, Dr. Berry!!

The brother of my son's friend ate himself diabetic with biscuits, cakes, sweets and lots of sugary energy drinks. He's always been skinny, but he got type 2 diabetes when he was only 18. He's 23 now. Unfortunately he's been told to eat what he wants and not to worry about the sugar because he can always shot some insulin. I've tried to tell him to do some research into Keto and Carnivore, but he's just too hooked on carbs, too young and too foolish. Shame.

I've been carnivore 5 1/2 months and I've had a lot of healing. No more arthritis pain, no more plantar fasciitis, fixed a partially frozen shoulder. But the main reason I went carnivore is, I was about to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes and carnivore is working! I think I'm insulin resistant and that can take a very long time to heal. I have 40 to 50 pounds to lose and I haven't lost any weight yet. The advise in the carnivore community is that our body has to heal before it will let go of the weight. I will continue carnivore because I feel so good, and I will continue to experiment with intermittent fasting and maybe longer fasts until I figure this out. Hang in there we can do this! 💪

In my experience, it takes going cold turkey for a couple of weeks straight. Every time you eat something sweet, it provokes the addiction again, but the longer you can go without, the weaker the desire gets. For me, it never goes away 100%, but it's a whole lot easier to resist temptation now that I'm fat adapted. But getting fat adapted doesn't happen over night, it takes weeks on end, especially if you have setbacks. But eating protein and fat takes the edge off your appetite.

I'm so sorry this isn't working for you! I'm counting my blessings for the small wins to keep me encouraged. I'm not having any luck losing weight yet either. But even though i have lots to lose, I have been finding my inflammation is going down some. I have a trigger finger that is slowly easing a little bit. My hands aren't as stiff and painful when i wake up either. My back is less stiff and painful too. Very small, even minute progress but I'll take it. And my tummy doesn't hurt a little bit all the time. I'm 66 and have lots of issues but my blood pressure is 117/80 after 2 months. Down from 168/89. Resting pulse is 68 to 72 instead of upper 80s. Anxiety and depression are less. No medications except for occasional pain/ muscle relaxer for back spasms. I'm not 100% carnivore yet and might never be but I'm finding out that I'm enjoying the freedom from the constant thought of food; buying, preparing, cooking, cleaning up. No sweet cravings! I eat once or twice a day between 11 and 5 or 6. No snacking is easy. I'd like to encourage you to find your little wins and count those blessings while we keep working for the weight loss to start. Good luck to you!

@@Mudcreekma i definitely do have some wins. the weight is slow moving but it is moving (16lbs so far today), i've lost two inches off my hips, my deeply cracked heals are no more, the edema in left leg/foot is gone, my period cramps are less(i have endometriosis and this was a surprise), My fingernails seems stronger, less brittle anyway. I'm committed to carnivore for 90 days and kept at it and now I am cutting out dairy starting tomorrow and maybe even considering the lion diet for a couple of weeks to see if that might also help with things. We'll see. Thanks for the encouragement!

What were you eating before? You must eat less… if you have fat reserves.. you need to have a calorie deficit… not a big one, just a small one .. 500 cals.. of usually your carbs and sugars.. no sweet drinks. Hang in there… your body is most likely trying to keep you addicted to the old so its trying to trick you in a smart way.. you will lose about 10 lbs of water weight.. in the first month.. sont be fooled by losing weight fast.. when you will.. you will look less bloated because the water is gone… also dont over drink… when youre thirsty drink … eat a bit of fatty something when you get a sugar carb craving.. but dont endulge either.. its about retraining your system… and damn its hard…when you have been a carb-nivore all your life…the meal is no longer a pleasure zone in the moment… this is the sad part… but you will be chipping away at the old rock… stick with it sculptor… and dont forget real fermented sauerkraut… and apple cider vinegar… but dont over do… take it nice n easy… hope this helps
