@@MarkWildman Hi Mark, what I need as a beginner is some guidance. Getting off my ass and into working out is hard, and I can't spare the brainpower needed to puzzle everything together because I need that brainpower to actually do the movements and then get through the rest of the day :-) So what would really help are some "Phase one" full body workouts for beginners, including a warmup and cooling down. Get us going for three months, and then we can step it up a notch into Phase two. Or do another Phase one programme to, for instance, get the basics of clubs. So an idea would be: Phase One KB, Phase One Clubs - 3 month daily workout. After our initial succes and staying injury free with your guidance we could then start to commit to longer programmes. Just an idea.

Is this more of a "passing the kettlebell around the body" (i.e. pretty static upright core) or a "swinging the kettlebell around the body" (i.e. leaning the core into the opposite side of the kettlebell) type of movement? Or maybe more to the point, do you want to keep the kettlebell as close to your hips as possible or not? I get the impression that you seem to swing it - which I don't get to work properly. Does this depend on the weight of the kettlebell maybe?
@SamirWise

Could you answer this? My knees don’t align with my feet when feet are pointing straight. To avoid crackling knees in squatting, I need to lean my knees outward. Is this Ok? Should I just rotate my feet outward? Is there an exercise to align my knees and feet overtime? Thanks heaps. Learning a lot from your videos Mark :)

Having flat feet and bunions, lower back pain, lazy glutes. Is this something you can do every day as a routine? How long before my arches in my feet start to come back?
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman 3 жыл бұрын
No clue without seeing. Probably a few months of good technique. You should probably be training barefoot and using toe stretcher/separators. You should also be doing Pilates hip bridges at the beginning of every work. 120 sec on the clock.

The silicon ones on Amazon I like. They hold all the toes open. Bunions are annoying to deal with but they can be helped most likely. And point your feet straight ahead in the bridges. Hey Mark, I'm 62 yrs old could I do kettlebell exercises at this age or is there a limit with each exercise performed. Great Instructions 👍
@nandobreiter4075
@nandobreiter4075 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Edward, I'm 62 and love working with kettlebells. Not sure what Mark would recommend as the knowledgeable, professional trainer - and would love his opinion on this issue. What I'm doing with heavier weights with snatches and swings for instance is an interval approach with high intensity for 10-15 seconds and low intensity or rest for 50-45 seconds. This approach seems to allow my body enough rest between active phases that my muscles are able to regenerate much more easily. If I do high intensity with less rest between active phases, more along a typical tabata cycle typically called high intensity interval training, then it takes me a number of days to recover. I picked this tip up from Pavel during a Joe Rogen podcast. He calls this high intensity with longer low intensity intervals approach "High-Intensity Repeat Training" or HIRT and recommends it for older folks doing kettlebells. Another way of saying it is if I exercise at too high an intensity with too little rest between sets, then it seems my muscle fibers get broken down too much for my body's capacity to repair and rebuild them, and I'm just sore and stiff for a few days and I don't seem to get stronger with time. If instead I give my body a strong challenge but for only short high intensity phases, then I feel great after the workout and feel stronger the next day, which is what I want. This is what I've found that works well for me so far, in the absence of a professional trainer like Mark providing more detailed / personalized guidence.

Edward Vega, I’m a 77 year old female. Have been working out with kettlebells for 14 years now, and am just working my way up the kettlebell weights. Currently in lockdown I’m swinging my 16kg aiming for 100 swings per time, and also have a 10kg which I also swing up to 100 times. Am able to do rack and press, goblet squats and sumo and RDL. The weight is not the issue when one begins, rather the form. Most important otherwise one can injure oneself. I prefer to work with my trainer, however in his absence I do what I can. Watch Mark’s other videos, they are excellent.
