Yoooo so I did another skit like what I did for the first Home Alone movie, but I decided not to put it in this video and have it uploaded separately. If you would like to watch this bad, high school video project, here you go: • Video
Consider it as a little ✨Christmas bonus✨

You have to remember that Harry and Marv are trying to kill Kevin. That’s why everything Kevin does is purely for self defence. You’ll also notice that while Kevin’s traps may seem cruel, he never goes after them when they’re down. It’s only if they get back up that Kevin activates more traps. Kevin also can’t go to the police because he’s on the run. Given those circumstances I think Kevin’s actions are perfectly reasonable and sane
@Underworlder5
@Underworlder5 3 жыл бұрын
if you ask me, it is not the traps that make kevin look psychotic, but the fact that he is rather gleeful about it. even when throwing bricks at someone from what looks like four stories at least, he shows no reluctance at all. also, not really self defense, since he did it to protect the toy store, and they only considered killing him after he riled them up enough (and did enough damage to kill THEM several times over had the movie not run on cartoon physics)
@TheJjcczz
@TheJjcczz 3 жыл бұрын
@@Underworlder5 They threatened to shoot him the first time they ran into him and they threatened to kill him in the first movie. So it is self defence because they chased him and threatened to kill him. Kevin also just went to the store to get evidence and set the traps incase they followed him. Also you’re telling me you wouldn’t get any enjoyment at all out of throwing bricks at two idiots who’ve been threatening to kill you for 2 years
@Underworlder5
@Underworlder5 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheJjcczz i missed that part where they threatened to kill him from the beginning, but my point still stands about the last one. the fact that he has absolutely no qualms about potentially killing another human, especially at that age, is a sign that something is wrong with him. if it was more of a "i hate doing this, but i have to", then it would be more understandable

It bothers me that the staff just chase him around like he's a criminal. Did the credit card not have their last name on it? Couldn't they have just gently approached him about it instead of trying to apprehend him and scare him off into the NY streets? They couldn't just find his dad's number from the card info through the bank or something, and tell him what was happening? In the very least, they didn't need to look like they were gonna jump him.

Not necessarily. They likely thought it was a case of fraud. A father and son duo stealing credit cards and IDs and living off them. Father and son crime partners are fairly common. The hotel staff had no real reason to believe this kid was a McCallister. You feel that way because of “Third Person Omniscience”. Or the idea that as the audience you know things the other characters don’t. Tim Curry’s character likely had training as a concierge to spot fraud and something about Kevin hit those instincts. All the hotel staff saw was the stolen credit card and the conveniently missing father. Kid or not, fraud is fraud. As a retired cop once told me, “Once people start fraud they don’t stop, even when they get caught.”

It was not just a random kid, though, it was a sick kid from the hospital to which pre-Christmas proceedings from the Duncan's Toy Chest are donated. I love this moment to pieces, not the least because I was a sick kid a lot and it hits harder that way, but also because of how freaking deep the movie gets at this point. In the first movie Kevin's motivation is a pure and simple self-defense. In the second one he willingly risks his life, bringing himself into a literal line of fire (they do try to shoot him; fail miserably but do try) because he feels really guilty for the whole chain of events (both times). The least thing he wants in his life at that rather low point (amplified a lot because he is still a kid with a lot of trauma) is to have that multiplied by knowing what Harry and Marv did and choosing not to do anything about it. He could have just called the police on them (which probably would have worked too) but at this point he doesn't have much trust in the system and, honestly, could you blame him? His interactions mostly consisted of police pretty much failing to notice that he was in a problem. It's amazing that Culkin actually manages to effectively portray an ten-years-old Kevin processing all of that and coming to a decision that most adults will pass but would consider more or less right. This is some Batman-level stuff mixed with a teary-eyed wholesomeness (plus "Christmas Star" makes it even more heartwarming). Gets me every single time. When I was a in a similar situation even in the adulthood, this movie juxtaposed with how absolutely style-over-substance Christmas holidays were in that particular year from a perspective of someone with a PTSD from a war conflict... This movie actually helped me to process a lot of that and I felt nearly instantaneously-better when I donated some money to sick kids rather than just eating a lot like most people do where I am on holidays. P.S. I hope the views are coming now that there's a new movie round the corner.

Unpopular opinion I actually like the third movie because its different. I felt Kevin's story was done. But Alex the kid in the third is quite funny and his traps are ingenious plus the reason he is home alone is because he is sick so you see his family reacting to odd things plus the family actually find out about the bad guys. Different bad guys as well.

You can’t just be upping the amperage, The amperage is entirely dependent on the voltage and the resistance of the circuit. There are some devices like you adjust the amperage but what you’re really doing it’s changing the voltage so we get the desired amperage. One amp through The human body would surely be lethal but thanks to the resistance of the skin it’s basically impossible at 120 V. One amp it’s what you to get with merely 120 ohms resistance but the electrical resistance of the human body is far greater. So I’m not sure what rules of thumb you are following but this one is wrong.

Pigeons get a bad rap. I'm not going to say they can't be dirty or can't carry diseases (I mean, that's true of most wild animals?), but the level of hate people have for them is really misguided. The actor who plays Kevin played in a movie when he was a little bit older called the good son, and it’s a rated r disturbing film where he plays a disturbed child who’s cousin comes to live with him after the cousins parents died. The cousin begins to discover “Kevin’s” disturbing psychopathic tendencies like killing neighborhood dogs with homemade guns and causing car accidents for fun, pushing people off cliffs, trying to kill his siblings etc. it’s super freaky, and watching home alone 1 and 2 then watching that makes me think

let's be honest...the best line in this film is when he calls the uncle a cheap skate at the beginning...it makes me laugh so hard everytime. New York wasn't the best city in the 90's to be fair...unless you had money and you could get into the decent hotels or you had like a family place to go. there was a lot of homeless...probably still is. Very crowded, cold in winter, not the best if you were alone as a kid. LOL children...at the Plaza...unlikely...it's fairly strange for a kid to be at the Plaza...it's a five star hotel.

Brilliant Reaction, I laugh at your puns more than to the movie's goofs, and that's sayin' something ! Home Alone 2 was my very first movie I watched alone in theatre (well.. My mum drove me to it, but went shopping in the meantime). And I saw it before discovering the first one which hadn't been on TV yet (well, not on free TV at least). And this is also my favorite. Thus, I may suggest that even if you don't make a reaction to it, try the 3rd one. I actually don't understand why he is so despised by people, cause he is really reproducing the formula of the first, but, like here, with a few twitches to keep it entertaining, and it did it quite well... maybe not as well as 1 and 2, but still in an enjoyable way. Though, the 4th one is definitely crap. They did the mistake the 3rd didn't. As having not the same actors, the 3 presented us with another family (Scarlett Johansson playing the hero's sister), and new antagonists. The 4th casts bad actors and make them play the roles of the characters of Kevin, his family, and Harry, but either the actors are very poor, or the director is lame (or both), cause we just don't believe it one second.
