I had several reels and Torium was one of the reels I lent my buddy. It was Torium 16 and it did fine. 20 should be great! We are looking to go next year again. Tight lines!!!

That water was perfect, I wish it looks like that everytime I go bottom fishing.

I was pretty close to not giving any tip, but they still helped me with the fish and it wouldn’t have been fair for Marco, who seem to treat everyone equally. I understand why the young’ns were on the regular’s side though. They have to deal with him often, since he’s on there frequently. I see him in a lot of pics and sometimes on other people’s videos. He wasn’t kidding when he said he was regular, lol. I’ll tell you what though. That regular isn’t gonna push me and my buddies around next year. 100% guaranteed I will stand my ground, lol. In the end, I am not gonna let one person ruin the trip for me. Tight lines!

I would have been pretty upset starting a multi day trip like that. Might of considered not being as generous with the tip. Looks like it was a good trip all in all. You got a couple of my bucket list fish. I’m glad you went first, now you can give me the inside scoop for next year 😂

Besides the little drama at the beginning of the trip, mates all worked pretty hard and were very helpful. And it wouldn’t be fair for Marco, one of the deckhands who seemed to treat everyone equally (Regular or not). I would say it was an epic trip, ‘cause everything was new. Hope you can join us next year!

Dude, you are pretty chill guy bout that, “regular.” What a jerk. I am somewhat of a regular on that boat and I encounter at least 1 person per trip that is a jerk. Last year same thing happened to me and my buddy but not the bunk thing. 1st drop and “regular” was in our rail position. Me and my buddy got adjoins positions because we like to fish together and I chose that position for a reason. I know people move around and that is cool but 1st drop you usually start at your position. Anyway, I told the dude my buddy is going to be fishing that spot in a minute and he got all righteous with me, I am a regular and you can fish wherever you want blah blah blah. I just smiled and said OK knowing what was coming next. My buddy comes to the rail all 6’4” 260 lbs and said move and the little a-hole ran away. Did not say a peep and tried to avoid us the rest of the trip. We are both big guys and though I could have tossed him easily I wanted to have a little fun and watch my buddy take care of it. Glad you had a good trip.

I agree with you 100% and we gotta become friends if we see each other on the trip hahah. I’m on the smaller side and lost muscle mass after having kids lol. I had to control my temper to make it a good trip for me and my buddy and fishing was good besides the drama. Tight lines!

Looks like you guys had fun. Thanks for posting the video. Been interested in taking a trip on this boat but if you have regulars who act like jackasses and the crew does nothing then not sure it would be worth it. Every regular started as a new guy. Is the jerk in the video somewhere so people can avoid him?

I don't want to be a snitch, so I'll keep quiet about who that person is. I'll tell you this though, he had trouble with two other groups of people. He reserved a spot near the stern but was fishing the pulpit with other jiggers without their approval and I'm not sure what exactly happened with him and another group, but words were exchanged more than once during the trip. My point is, you should be able to pick the person out easily, if he doesn't change how it interacts with other people, LOL. Don't let it discourage you. I'm already signing up to go next year with Colvin another buddy and we'll make sure we don't get pushed around by the same guy if he's on the boat. Tight lines!

Lol I got him the reel for the trip and it is two speed, but he didn’t listen to me at first and kept it in high hear lol. He’s the type to learn by doing…

@@theanglercrew7059 Hahahaha gotcha! Well first time when I was introduced to two speed was fighting amberjacks, and the mates pranked me till I was on my 2nd one about 3/4 way up. Then they showed me the wonders of low gear😆😆😆😆

On there website baits are included to the fare, how come they are not giving baits?

They do provide bits of squid, but not much more than that. Most of the people, if not all people fishing bait, brought their own bait in their coolers.

@@randy3907 Gotcha! The only thing I saw in the common area was cut squid on this trip. I did lose a couple of fresh ballyhoo I left in the common area though lol.

Yea always run into issues with deck hand only helping regulars. We had two hooks on the same fish. The fish was clearly mines since I was the one who reeled it one and felt the bite, the regular didn't know what was going on only to find he caught a fish because he saw his line. Deck hand just automatically gave the fish to him even tho we agreed with deck and the regular we are gonna split the fillet. It also doesn't help if you are not white.

Thats why i never would fish a Party Boat with more than 8 passengers Anglers. This story you heard happens more than you think!! I would have packed my shit and found a Lawyer and get the paperwork started because that's a lot of BS there!!Fish your own boat cost more but less BS.

Wow some people are just born being an ahole. Whats the point of having assigned seats if they just do it like that. You patience is unparallel he wud have have been a shark bait if he did that to me. Good thing your fishing was great tho!

Reservation for a spot is a bad thing. First come first serve is the way it should work and that is how we do in New York for all the party boat here as far as I remember. Pluse I would not get on a boat and pick some other boat if I found all good spots been picked. I do not think the captain would like that

Yeah that is how we do it in NY. How ever I'll say that I'm looking at this as if I payed for a plane ticket and some one is trying to kick me out my first class seats to a lower class and the plane staff is just ignoring them. Is it a bad idea yes but they should still honor it if they do it other wise don't do it to avoid this trouble.
