I knew I should have recognized it, but Mass Effect didnt even cross my mind. I sometimes listen to Normandy Reborn and Unknown Worlds. Man, those are all great though. So raw with emotion, like it speaks directly to the soul.

I can just imagine Loron’s back story: When he was young, he was laughing at some witch for her appearance, and so she cursed him to emitting the screams of agony of 1000 demons any time he laughed again, for the rest of his natural life. Since then Loron hasn’t been able to keep a steady group of friends or location, as he inevitably releases the insufferable sound, to the horror and burst ear drums of everyone around him.

I mean, he didn't give them much of a chance to respond so it's not their fault. Their ears were bleeding. They may have understood and agreed to not make him laugh like that again. It's more like he was hurt once and refuses to open up to anyone else.
