15:20 just to mention, what she did initially, backing up out of the way when other people showed up to deal with the issue, is exactly the right thing to do. This guys speaking from his perspective as an ex lifeguard. I'm ex RNLI and worked at sea for 10yrs so I'd jump in too if there were no other options to hand but even if you're a real strong swimmer in the pool, unless you have experience in actual outdoor and not heated water AND at least a heads up on the many different ways a casualty in panic can react and how bad that can go, DO NOT jump in! Raise the alarm, grab floatation aids like liferings and yeet them in, throw them a line but DO NOT jump straight in or you're risking 1 casualty in danger becoming 2 doa. In sea search and rescue we train to approach the casualty with absolute caution and gain control of the casualty asap when we get hands on. We also train to be aware of how a person may react if in panic and not to hesitate to push, even kick a person who tries to grab at you away. Someone in panic isn't always going to be shouting and screaming and flailing around in stereotypical panic and someone in panic will not hesitate to grab and use you to keep themselves above water! We even train to punch the living snot out of someone if it comes to it...anything to subdue and get them under control. If someone falls or is pushed in, raise the alarm not only with emergency services or local staff but for everyone in the area to recognise there's an issue and you need help. Grab anything the floats and yeet it in as close to the casualty as you can get it. If there's life ring with line, fantastic. Get that to them and pull them in or at least stop them being swept away. If there's a strong current, someone has to keep eyes on at all times and follow them from the bank as best they can and even point at them so other people can see them and keep track of them too. Unless you're really confident that you know what you're getting yourself into and confident in your ability to recover them AND get yourself out, do not jump in. Stay safe everyone and Happy Independence Day USA 🤗 Edit: sorry for the wall of text. One of my worst shouts with RNLI went from search and rescue to body recovery before we could get anywhere near the site. A young boy playing on a rocky out cropping was hit by a wave and washed into the sea. Their older sister jumped in to save him but they were both swept out and dragged under. The wee boy was only 11 and his sister 16. Hit a little close to home is all with the guy saying "jump in"

One of my old first officers who was also the TO for the operator I worked for had probably the best description of jumping into frigid sea water without survival suit I've ever heard. Imagine the worst brain freeze from ice cream while being repeatedly kicked in the chest while rolling around on a few million pin tacks.

This only applies when a flotation device is available and the person in water is still conscious, or do you suppose people are just supposed to sit there their thumbs up their arse in such situations? Plus, there are also body size considerations. I'd like seeing you throw a flotation device for a toddler and see how that goes.

You mean revenue? I can't find anything saying stake is even profitable, let alone making record profits. Stake is a relatively new company with an aggressive growth strategy, odds are they are still losing money. Revenue is not profit. And Stake is not Kick. For instance if you spent 500 million a year running kick and it brings in 250 million a year in revenue for stake. Yea stake will probably have record revenue because that is 250 million in revenue you didn't have before. But you are still losing a ton of money on kick.

Fun fact. Twitch home page has an algorithm that shows stream recommendations based on what you watch. (Minus the few streams at the top of the main page that's manually selected by twitch and I have never seen a camgirl on) But the rest of the recommendations are just that recommendations based on what you watch. So if your twitch home page is nothing but can girls I believe you just ratted on yourself for what you watch on twitch. Imagine being part of the problem you complain about hahahaha

Also last time I used twich to consume content was during 2018 or so. While at that time I was loged with my account, I was only watching warframe videos and only when they do that drop thing. And at the time, as you are saying it will only show game videos, mostly from similar games. Since then I have another computer and I don't visit twitch or game streaming websites in general. Even worse to your case: The moment I opened that private window I did it using edge, which is a browser that I almost never use. So what is exactly tracking twitch from a clean browser with no loged account and history? Now to be fair with you, maybe you are taking the term carmgirl literally. What I mean with that is not like a n0por site, but more like those gals that are very atractive and show a lot on their stream to bait desperate virgin kiddos while barely playing any game... Those ladies where the top recomended streams for the private window that I openend at the time.

Kick is twitch but run by a gambling site and a green theme and they ignore copyright and other laws. Kick literally uses twitch source code that was stolen in a twitch hack about 6 months before kick went live. Hence why the kick functions are nearly identical to twitch. And kick also uses the same Amazon web service for hosting the site as twitch does. So ye that's the basic breakdown

Then the software has to prove it isn't, man there is so much you have to turn off in software, because the default with software is data collection by the ton. Nowadays when I build a new PC I have to spend so much time turning off a lot of default nonsense with software, it was never that bad in the past.

Kick is not a competitor to Amazon. Twitch doesn't even make money for Amazon, it's completely insignificant to them.

Additional advantage to AWS hosting Kick: 1. It creates precedent that Amazon can argue is not anti-competitive. 2. It give Amazon more power. if Kick fucks up, Amazon can pull the plug any time they want. But wait -- it get worse! If Disney, Viacom, ect. find out about the gross copyright infringement happening across their platform, They can just sue AWS, as that -- the place where all the content is hosted -- in in the United States, so therefore must adhere to US law, regardless of where the company is located.

@@noblebearawMicrosoft azure or Google. Other options exist but they are mostly a joke at this scale.. Moving cloud providers at said scale is not trivial and not cheap. it would take lots of time and money. But be sure kick has considered the option tho

I think another reason why KZfaq doesn’t improve their live streaming services is because they don’t want to be recognized as a monopoly video hosting if they gain too much of the streamer market. I strongly believe that if Google really wanted to, they could have the best Long/short-form video and streaming platform with their already existing and massive user-base, analytics, and resources. They just want enough attention for people to know it’s an option but not enough to dominate outside of long-form content.

YT is still the premier video site. Its not made for streamers and they sort of don't need too. They don't prioritize it because the market is sort of flooded with apps and whole companies that only do streaming. Why try and compete when you know you will be less than. They can keep doing what they are doing and when Kick or Twitch or a big site fails they can then take a real shot at it. Facebook is out, Twitch is teetering and Kick is basically gambling. If Twitch takes a massive hit for all the diddler DM's they covered up over the years you could see YT swoop in and grab market share

People act like Kick is the odd one out where all the degenerate stuff happens, but in reality this stuff happens on every single social media and streaming platform out there. Yes that includes everyone favorite Twitch and KZfaq, but for some reason people love to only focus on Kick which I can't really figure out why. Maybe it's just bias after have so many news articles and videos about how bad Kick is but not as many for Twitch or KZfaq, though I honestly have no clue.
