As someone who did kickboxing before high level muay thai guys do push kicks to the hip like fiore, but yeah the kicks in the medieval treatises are what muay thai guys would call a teep, not to damage but disrupt balance and gain advantage or a free strike. Very cool video this why i like hema its very practical.

kicking in the bind causes lowline disruption and wins the bind it requires good timing, but isnt impossible. I do this consistantly in dagger
