Recorded from late 1980’s VHS. Kidderminster- A Journey Through Time gives a lovely insight into Kidderminster’s history & industrial heritage.

Loved this, I'm 26 but being from here and still here, I'd love to learn more about our town

What a fantastic archive, all I can say is my education in the 1950s at Lea Street school and Sladen secondary modern was very lacking in local history 🤓

I went to school in the 1980’s/1990’s and it wasn’t much better then. Maybe a little bit about Rowland Hill but apart from that very little

Wonder if the blunt family mentioned here are any relatives of the blunts that live in the same area now, oddly there is a Thomas blunt too

Every decision Wyre Forest Council has made over a long period seems to have been to the detriment of the people of Kidderminster which this and some other videos make painfully clear.

It was never beautiful, I was born in Mill Street Hospital 70 plus yerar's ago. Lived in Franche. And Habberley Road before I moved south. The ring road was an abomination. The place had been already in decline. What ever happened to Frank Freeman's where one coulld buy seriouslly good instruements and scores? Used to frequent the Cov when I was in the sixth form. With careful wiggling of a knife one could get the music player to work avoiding dropping a sixpence. Made a coffee last a week... I presume the rugby ground and sports clubs along Franche Road were sold off for building land years' ago.

@@user-dp3js4rp3o hi I admit the town is utterly crap now. The local council have ruined the town. Full of empty shops, they hate trees, always cutting them down. What I find as well is it’s always bluddy raining here, if I’m in Bromsgrove or droitwich it can be blue sky and dry, as I drive down into kiddy its mostly grey and rain Must be due to kiddy being in a low kind of valley etc I’m thinking of moving out of the dump too
