“Could you untie me please?”
It’s the early hours of June 7th, 1995. Detective Bill Lindsey is carefully taking pictures of a crime scene with two dead bodies, 34 year old Mary Phillips, and her 11 year old daughter Lacey. After having photographed the young mother in her office, he turns to the little girl on the chair, head down and covered in blood, but something unexpected happens: when his camera flashes, she opens her eyes.

That poor mother. While she’s being beaten and violated in the worst way, she can hear her helpless daughter begging for her mommy. Then knowing you were about to die along with the anguish of being completely unable to do anything to save your baby must have been nothing short of hell for her.

disgusting for him to use his wife’s sexual assault as an excuse to commit a crime to a mother and her daughter. just because someone hurt the one you love doesn’t mean you get to hurt others who are completely innocent. may mary phillips rest in peace and i wish lacey the best. (and the two other women.)

Absolutely, using someone else's suffering as an excuse for committing heinous crimes is utterly reprehensible. It's tragic that innocent individuals had to bear the brunt of his misguided retaliation. He only admitted to killing 2 other women after he was dead. DNA testing proved he killed Lorraine Bennett. Apparently the letter he sent to his sister was in 2006 and was to be opened a year after his death, which is how he confessed to the murders of Lorraine and Regina Harrison. From what I read he was never up for parole, just appealing the death sentence

How do you "come up for parole" when you have a death sentence?
@serkotsins
@serkotsins 3 ай бұрын
Yea, I noticed that as well. I assume it was a mistake is the writing that wasn’t caught? As much as I hate to say this, I am beginning to think that this channel uses AI for the script writing and doesn’t always catch the mistakes the AI makes. 😭 I’ve noticed similar hiccups in the wording prior to this
@NotASnowflake
@NotASnowflake 3 ай бұрын
@@serkotsins I did a bit of research and what I found makes sense. It says that he was sentenced in two different cases. One of which he was eligible for parole. So, he would be able to be paroled on one of the charges and all that means is that he stops serving time for that charge and the death sentence charge begins. In no way was he eligible for "parole release". I don't see the point in taking up time and money for a parole hearing on a dead man walking.

It's deeply concerning to hear about such negligence. Checking for vital signs and ensuring the well-being of the individuals involved should always be the first priority in any emergency situation. In forensic, it is crucial to not interact with everything, so evidences or clues can't be further destroyed. But obviously, they should check after pictures. Not an expert, but I think that's why.

I’m convinced that killers pick out people with the most light emanating from them. In a crowd of people, they can choose the one who “lights up a room”. It’s not a cliche.

I remember when this happened because I lived in Searcy, Arkansas at the time, which is not too far away from Bald Knob; we're in the same county(White). Everyone was noticeably scared to get around to doing their normal daily things. 🥺

I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this case! It happened just 60 miles from where I live. I guess bc I was only a teenager at that time.

Why is it all these cases are in small towns 🤔 the one thing you keep noticing over and over with all these cases is they’re all happening in small town USA.

She was beautiful, inside and out, it seems. I’m so glad Lacey survived and was able to help get that monster convicted. He should not even be up for parole, ever.

I guess because it's hard to believe people can do such horrific things and then die and be at peace with all of our loved ones. Doesn't really make sense but emotionally feels better @@William256

It’s really sad she was so long waiting to be rescued. Hard to imagine why her dad didn’t go to the office when he first wondered where his wife was. And if they knew where the suspects residence was, why was he being allowed to evade capture?

He got a 15000 buck fine for attempted murder of the little girl? How the fuq is he gonna pay that in prison? Especially if sentenced to death? Wtf. Did he pay it? I mean if he doesn't, they gonna put him in prison? Makes no sense at all.
