I agree. It's a fun throwback to 80s college films and it has a message at the end that's pretty irregular for a kids movie.

Just went to the comments to say this. I watched it a day when I wanted to watch something animated - and I really enjoyed it. I don't go in expecting to be blown away by every animated movie, it's similar to games; not all games need to be 10/10. I'm hoping Monsters at Work turns out to be a nice, fun time as well :) It's a world I want to see more of, so a series is perfect for it

The dean was the most interesting thing I ever seen. I mean the way she crept in then having wings also made you believe just how terrifying she would be to a child. The lore was built exponentially with that movie.

Y’all throw some shade on the outtakes and to me they are the best unique aspects of these movies. It further builds the world where not only do we believe these worlds exist coinciding with our own, the outtakes feel like they are making their own little meta commentary.

Monsters Inc. deserves to be number one. It’s one of the most well-rounded Pixar films.

This came out when I was in first grade. I watched it a lot as a kid but haven't seen it in a while. I forgot how good this movie is. The music, the world building is fascinating, the characters are perfect and that ending. Masterpiece imo.

Toy Story 3 and 2 over Monsters Inc. I feel like they explored their concept better and deeper than MI in the en. But great movie!

Curious to see how this series plays out. I think I can predict the list up until Wall-E (unless they come out strong in favor of Incredibles), but i get the feeling there is some very pro-Toy Story 3 sentiment on this panel, and so I'm unsure how it will go after that. I think the Wall-E episode will be a very interesting watch (I personally would put Wall-E over Toy Story 3, for reference). EDIT: Just got to the end, color me shocked.

I believe they are going by what is written on the list. And it was Greg who wrote the Toy Story characters on it as he was hosting Ragu Bagu during that In Review. He goes with whatever spell check corrects it to.

Toy story 3 ends with Andy playing with his toys for the final time and giving them up not a fiery trash death scene. That’s a KZfaq prank some guy played on his family! I’ve always been okay with where Kinda funny as a whole ranks things but not going to lie Monsters inc over Toy story 3 hurt. But I know it will all be okay, as long as they put Good dinosaur at the bottom of the list.

My math teachers name was mr plakowski. His uncle was like an accountant at Pixar and Mike wazowski was named after him. He’s shown me evidence of this shit and it fuckin blows my mind

I wanna give a special mention to the Monsters Inc level of Kingdom Hearts 3. The character interactions in it are so true to the movie. There's also the recurring bit where Boo keeps calling Donald "Mike Wazowski". Whereas in the movie it annoyed Mike because she kept saying it to him, in Kingdom Hearts, Mike was jealous because she was calling someone else "Mike Wazowski".

For me, I would much rather re-watch Monsters Inc. again and again. Toy Story 3 is great and has such a heartwarming ending but I like Monsters Inc better because it's a simpler story that doesn't ever get too serious.

@@MelodicQuest None of the comedy landed for me. I've laughed out loud for at least 1 scene in all of the other five movies. Like some of the kinda funny crew mentioned there also wasn't a strong emotional connection like there was in the other movies. I felt like the plot ran too slow, I was constantly wanting the scene to change hoping it would get better. That sense of wonder the other movies brought just wasn't there. Maybe it's because even as child watching this, I never felt that with this movie in particular.
