🇹🇼 Ultimate Taiwan Street Food Tour: • Taiwan Street Food - B...

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Welcome again to the island food paradise of Taiwan, and today we’re going on a Taiwanese street food tour but focusing on some of the intense wok fired dishes of Taiwan including the King of Fried Rice!!
1. Market Stir Fry 龍記炒燴: goo.gl/maps/G76f2NwgbZsLXrNg8 - First to begin this Taiwanese food tour we stopped off at a market across the street from Taiwan University. At lunch the market transforms into a massive food court with all things Taiwanese food you can imagine. But we headed to the back of the market to go to a famous stir fry stall where they make everything fresh to order. A few of their specialties are fried noodles and egg and beef in a sauce over rice. Food was delicious!
Total price - 320 TWD ($10.57)
2. Oyster omelet (廣州街夜市香脆蚵仔煎): goo.gl/maps/uneE6Gk9LLE8FduY7 - Next up, another Taiwan street food classic - the oyster omelet. They fry it on a huge iron griddle feeding it lard as they go. One of the unique things about a Taiwanese oyster omelet is that they serve it with a big puddle of miso tomato sauce in the center. Additionally some of the highlights here are the plump poached oysters and the simple ginger soup.
Total price - 520 TWD ($17.18)
3. Fried Rice Restaurant (後港一路蛋炒飯): goo.gl/maps/XroqUXBp722FQseS8 - But really, the absolute highlight was going to Taiwan’s king of fried rice. As soon as I arrived they started making a batch of 45 plates at a time on one griddle. We got to see the full process as they added in 45 eggs, a bag of shrimp, cabbage, sauce, and kilos of rice. It was an amusement park of fried rice - a mountain of fried rice. And the owners are extremely friendly!
Total price - 180 TWD ($5.95)
This turned out to be an amazing Taiwan street food tour in Taipei. I loved the friendly owners and the delicious taste of the breath of the wok!

I used to cook like that with a wok. Australian in a small town, 12 Chinese population so the local Chinese cook trained us locals to cook his food. Did it for 6 years. Best job I ever had. I'll never forget you Jimmy Fung. Set me up for life with basic cooking knowledge.

Did you find it difficult? I learned how to cook with a wok when I was a kid, first dish my Mum made me master was Fried Rice, for someone who has never used one before it takes some getting used to as there really is no equivalent for Woks in western cooking.

That first guy must be a Master Wok Chef! He was whipping the fried rice like a magician✨ The guy who cooked up that fried rice towards the end is the most skilled chef ever to whip up 45 plates of 🍤 fried rice which is one of my absolute favorites blessings to that fantastic chef. The best noodles I ever had was a elder couple from Taiwan & they was very popular in my childhood area, they even babysit me and my sister a few times, unfortunately due to aging they passed on. I miss them & their food sooo very much. Bless their souls & family & forever will be loved & missed.😢🍜

Taiwanese street food is renowned around the world for its unique flavors and techniques, and the King of Fried Rice is no exception. This skilled chef can cook up to 45 plates of fried rice at a time, creating a delicious and satisfying meal that is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. With his expertise in the kitchen and his dedication to quality ingredients, the King of Fried Rice has become a staple of Taiwanese street food culture. One of the most interesting things about the King of Fried Rice is his use of a large metal wok to cook his dishes. This traditional method of cooking allows for high heat and quick cooking times, ensuring that the rice and other ingredients are perfectly cooked every time. Watching the chef work his magic is a sight to behold, as he expertly flips and tosses the ingredients in the wok, creating a flavorful and aromatic dish that is sure to delight your taste buds. Whether you are a fan of traditional fried rice or you are looking to try something new and exciting, the King of Fried Rice is a must-visit spot on your next trip to Taiwan.

My father in law is a fish monger, and we were eating huge scallops, abalone, sashimi, etc. taiwanese pastry also way underrated. Friends and relatives were treating us to best tea in my life. Not one single bad or even average meal. Luckily or luckily, they were having a Covid surge and me and my wife caught it. Unfortunately, lost smell for like 2 wk, which was a shame. But also fortunate since I only gained 5 lbs instead of 15 lbs.

The breath of the wok🤣😂👍 nothing but love from here. There’s nothing like something that’s just cooked to the perfection. The vegetables are not over done, and there’s still some crisp Ness and they’re not dead and soggy. Well done sir thank you.

As a Malaysian who visited Taiwan Multiple times. The Oyster Pancake (蚵仔煎) taste better without the sauce. My personal preference Other street food mostly taste good. Breakfast shop item also nice.
