Getting in trouble at a local Burundian Market 🇧🇮

In todays video I decided to go out for my last evening stroll and explore the local market when I met this guy who offered to take me around the market, before we were kicked out for filming. We went to get some local booze with some kind locals and I got to taste the local drink there. It was a very nice last day.

A lot of people don’t really understand my style of filming and think I am there to show the bad sides of a country while in real sense I like going to the places where the local people live and just be with them. Coz the rich people in all counties I been to are very self centered but the Normal locals show you the best love and true spirit of the country and many thing I go to those countries to pain them in a bad light which is not tru. I think this drinking adventure will help you understand why Burundians drink so much. Normally in rural areas each family has banana fields and can make banana wine from time to time, so Burundians grow up exposed to alcohol. I think that the Skoal beer is imported from Rwanda. The Brarudi is majority-owned by Heineken (from Holland) and as far as I know, it doesn't produce Skoal beer. I don't think that you have to drink the local brew (made from banana or from sorghum) in a group/with strangers, you can get your own bottle and drinking cup. A few months ago I saw a video of a factory in Ngozi where banana wine is made in a modern industrial setting.

Since I was born Skol was only found or coming from Bralima .Mutzig from Brarirwa nd Primus in Burundi. Amstel is made by Brarudi under licence of Heineken their Mother Company. We can not say is from Burundi. Heineken Beer is made in Kenya nd SA and elsewhere, doesn't not mean Heineken is Kenyan Beer but Tusker beer is. U don't believe? Ask older people around your community.

What he showed you at 5:28 is not matoke. It's wrapped in matoke (banana) leaves, but what's inside is a Burundian dish called "irobe". It's made of pounded cassava. So sad some people pretend it's not allowed to film... they just want to take advantage and get money from you . Shame on my people... :( I guess your videos of Burundi are meant for those who want to visit Bujumbura on a budget. I just wish you had showed both sides, not only the poorest areas. But thanks anyways.
