My friend @MrBmg and I were chilling in our car waiting to meet anothr guy when we were approached by a group of 3 policemen. They ordered me to get out of the car and took me in to their post without explaining what happened. Apparently I was arrested coz I had dreadlocks in Juba- South Sudan as a foreigner. What a long day. FUll video out NOW!!!

Hi our bro thanks for sharing your video with us. Why didn't they stop you from entering the country or told you that you couldn't enter from the airport? They already let you in the country with dreadlocks. It just doesn't make any sense!. I think those men want money. H watching from London England UK 🇬🇧. 😊

I remembered at one check point while u were on ur way to South Sudan someone told u, u may have to cover ur hair. The point is if it’s ur culture, it’s ur culture! Many, many yrs ago Jamaican Police used to treat Rastafarians the same way, they would beat them & cut their hair throw them in jail. Bob Marley is the one who took Rastafarian to another level. Peter Tosh had problems with the Police in Jamaica at one point, as a child growing up in Jamaica, a Rasta man was one of the most humblest person anyone could ever ask for. So happy ur fellow citizen stood up for u. Be safe more power to u

Even in Kenya, dreadlocks were associated with alot dirty things but now... even young kids in kindergarten are growing dreadlocks in Kenya after realising that dreadlocks has nothing to do with your behaviours...if you are a criminal you remain to be so even after shaving buld.....so they gonna style up as well😊

I really like your footage brother coming straight up out of North Carolina. I will say this much though bro if you know they do not want dreadlocks in their country, you must be modest and meet them halfway and cover up your locks. The country, people and land is really ancient there so they have their reasons. Love the footage you did get. Awesome 👌

Thank you. See the thing is they don’t tell you in advance. They told me at the boarder that I might get problems. I couldn’t turn back and neither did I have any head cover and keep in mind it’s 40 degrees hot outside. Lastly the law of no dreads applies only to the poor residents of the country not to tourists

I’m sorry about your bad experience Kish. Thank you BMG for taking care of and defending Kish’s rights. Many years ago dreadlocks was not widely accepted here in Jamaica; police would forcefully cut people’s locks too. Now, we have doctors, lawyers, preachers, parliamentarians and more who are sporting dreadlocks. South Sudan, please stop pressuring people unnecessarily because in the long run South Sudanese will be wearing dreadlocks freely.

Thank you for visiting our country! Our people are still very ignorant and an embarrassment at most. South Sudan needs to clarify laws in their foreign policy documents/their embassy websites to warn every possible tourists and investors in advance so they can either decided to visit or not.
