This was Kiss at their heaviest, and Eric Carr was the main man behind that fact. He introduced his fellow band members to a then up-and-coming band called Metallica. Showcasing just how far ahead he was of the pack.

@@conorbutler4808 I'd say “Destroyer”, “Creatures” and “Revenge” are a three part story over three decades in the band's history. The albums have a lot in common. - They all came out when the band had something to prove - They all had great sing along anthems - They all had the quintessential, devastating GENE song - Destroyer Came out when the band had just broken big and people were going “Okay, then, let's see if you guys can keep the momentum going!” The sing along anthem was “Detroit rock city” The GENE song was “God of thunder” - Creatures of the night Came out after “Unmasked” and “The Elder” left the band in a rut and people had written the band off as “Had-beens”. The band needed a strong statement. The sing along anthem was “I love it loud” The GENE song was “War machine” - Revenge Came out after Kiss had a terrible run during the eighties where they would open for bands who were opening for them just a few years earlier. And with Eric Carr's death, the consensus, once again, was that Kiss were over with. So the band needed to make a strong album to prove their validity in the new decade. The sing along anthems were “I just wanna” and “Take it off” The GENE song was “Unholy”

@@RastaSaiyaman yeah, 3 very solid albums! I gotta say though, always think Destroyer is really over hyped. Cool production though with piano doubling all power chord! I always prefered Love Gun over Destroyer. ...and Carnival didn't come out when they gave in for what was killing rock, grunge, but accidentally was late to the party😁But I love that album and wish to have had a band cycle for it before reunion

@@DaP84 Carnival was more nu-metal than Grunge. Also, Grunge didn't kill rock, it rejuvenated Rock. Because where did Rock come from? - Kids deciding to pick up instruments and try their hand at making music without the music education or being able to read sheet music, it was a "We'll do this ourselves." movement. And may I remind you that with John Frusciante, Billy Corgan and Dave Navarro, the gerne had some STELLAR musicians. Heck, listen to "Alive" by Pearl jam and hear Mike McCready play Ace Frehley's solo from "She"

I saw this tour in Detroit and it was the first time I saw KISS live. I've seen them about 15 times and the energy was over the top every time!

Tickets were $10.00 on that tour. I saw them in January of 1983

Guess who will be on the Monsters of Rock Cruise this year? Also, they played an Encore song, at the END of a 90 minute Concert in MadLife 2022 back in October. They invited Aidan Fisher to play as a 2nd Guitar..song? Master of Puppets. Yes you have reacted to this song in their music video...BUT, they just released this version a few weeks ago...Like shooting the "old" music video full of Steroids!....well worth a looksee...

I saw this tour when I was 11 in Saginaw Michigan. The tickets were $12.50. Night ranger opened.

During this time KISS wasnt able to sell out concerts or their records in America. In order for the band to survive they had to take off the make up It was also the start pf the LA hair metal scene.,Paul had no problem with becoming an 80;s frontman .Gene, after 10 yrs in "The Demon" persona it took him a while to get used to it

On that same tour I was at the show in São Paulo/Brazil and it was also brutal. When Kiss came to Brazil, it had never seen such a profoundly loyal and colossal audience. We Brazilians are really Rock fans and we love the surrounding energy at shows. It's like being in a parallel universe or a great epic dream. 🎉K💥I✨S🌟S🎉

I saw them late 75 and 77. In 1983 the tickets were probably around $10.00. I paid $15 for good seats in 1984 to see Elton John and Rod Stewart (different shows).

I got my tickets to see them during this tour but by the time they got to England the makeup was removed. It’s crazy to see them just prior to that, looking like the post-makeup but with the makeup still on, I would have loved them to stick with it. Also, Creatures was a genre-changing album at the same time as Blizzard, Van Halen, then hair metal etc. KISS are not given enough credit for supporting that shift even if other new bands took all the MTV plays

Steve Ferris of Mr. mister, played the guitar solo on creatures of the night for the album. They were in between guitarists and used the creatures of the night album as an audition for different players.

Paul and Gene both stated that Eric Carr was the kick in the a## that the band needed. Eric Carr was the best showman drummer KISS had. No doubt. It's so fun to think about what the group would be like if he was still with them.

Those tickets in 1983 were less than $20. I started going to concerts in 1987 and up until 1992 to see a Kiss concert or Queensryche, Cinderella, Motley Crue or whatever it was $16.50-18.50. Being that Brazil was still a 3'rd world nation in the early 80's it was probably not even $10. Everything was cheap back then too. Gas was 96¢ per gallon. High class motel room less than $100. There wasn't any crowd surfing except maybe in small punk rock clubs back then too. You just stood on the arena floor getting squished unless you went further from the stage

i used to hate his solo, but it's a ripping solo and fits the song. its one of the best examples of a replacement member of a band brining something better or different in a good way> on some of the other "classic" songs during his tours with KISS, he butchered the solo section, he didn't play Ace's note per note, or what he played was just improvised garbage. which was one gene and paul's main complaints about Vinnie. if he had sat down, and wrote a new ripping solo and played that consistently it would've sounded better. i have other shows from creatures of the night, and they're not the same, and they're not always good or decent. some downright awful. on the songs he wrote solos for though, yea he played them well.

I was near the front of both the Creatures and Lick it Up tours. VV was amazing during Creatures but a train wreck at Lick It Up. It must have been towards the end of the tour and you could tell he didn't want to be there anymore absolutely mailing his performance. As a die hard fan from the beginning, I was screw that guy replace him ASAP.

Saw this tour in California. Have some pictures from the show... killer sound on this album and tour but it was the start of the change for KISS. Ace and Peter were gone and soon the makeup. Lick It Up would dawn the new KISS rock and roll band.

I think this was their last tour with makeup. Vinnie Vincent was not one of my favorite KISS guitarists. The tempo for all 3 songs seems rushed too.
