Ace Frehley, lead guitarist with the silver face paint, the spaceman, best look, best outfit, best everything

I'm blessed to say that two weeks from now my wife and I will see KISS for their final appearance in Michigan (Detroit). I have never seen them anywhere but Michigan but have no desire. To me you haven't experienced a rock concert until you witness a Detroit crowd It will be my final time after viewing their spectacular events 7 other tours. It will be the first time for my wife. I have seen them twice with makeup and five times without but, sadly, I never got to see Ace Frehley live. My first time wanting the best and getting the best was in 1984 and he had already been replaced. So, I guess, I never have got the best. But the others have been pretty damn good.

I first saw Kiss in 77, and I've seen them 27 times since. will always be a Kiss army member

Look - Destroyer 1976! Also my favorite time for KISS. Destroyer, Rock n Roll Over and Love Gun.

We were in the lower deck 3rd base side of Tiger Stadium way back on the other side of the stadium from the stage. If it wasn't for the large screens, the KISS we saw would have only been about 3 inches tall. I remember the lead singer of the opening act Alice In Chains looked out over the audience & seeing a lot of people in KISS face paint & costumes said "hey how come, nobody's dressed up like me?" 🤣 This was the first full show of the reunion tour & KISS was what I'd say more carefull than confident but man they had really hit their stride when they returned to the Detroit area later that year for a show at The Palace of Arburn Hills where they were cocky, confident & totally comfortable playing together again.

The intro was actually Ace's warmup backstage before shows. They decided to use it for the song.

*This is another great KISS song...and I had every album until they unmasked. Even had the Solos and Music from The Elder. I saw KISS in '79 and on the Reunion and Farewell Tours. So much fun to only see just original members each time. Favorite Look was always Ace Frehley.*

The 1977 Love Gun outfits and make-up designs (which they were wearing for the reunion tour) are the best costumes in my opinion.

I was at that Detroit Tiger Stadium show in summer 1996, I'm pretty sure they didn't play Rock Bottom at that show because that was one of my favorite Kiss songs going back 11 years prior. Alice In Chains opened and Sponge was 3'rd on the bill. MTV was there with their rock the vote booth. I even walked past Sebastian Bach of Skid Row outside between sets and dozens of fans surrounded him and his wife who was dressed like a poodle. They were on the Rikki Lake Show shortly after wards too

Kiss alive album from 1975 is them at their very best. They were my very first concert and it was 1975 and Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band opened the show. Best show ever!!

My all time favourite band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome live too. Many years and concerts have gone by man. Still my number one band right from the start of it all!!!!

For instance in his when i grow up song, paid my dues, leave me alone, and why song, the black smile is the fake smile that he mentions in therapy session song. He hides eggs in his videos. In when i grow up song there was two hidden eggs in that song. A black balloon by the trash cans and in burger joint he grabbed at receipt that had the date and time of when his song time was being released. He had outcast name tag on in the janitor part from his Outcast song. Another example is in the search song he had cage in background he rapped in from his outcast song. when Kiss was young and hungry, they were untouchable as a live band. Certainly not excellent players like Rush but that was never the point of Kiss. Their Winterland show (on Kissology) in 75 is fantastic.

Hmmm ok, Ace was my man. This same year Me, Krister, Peter and Filip did a Kiss mime show for the whole school, Quite spot on make-ups patiently made by mums and girls from our class, but clothes was more "normal" but picked from sis and bros cupboards, instruments were quite bad sawed out from woodenboards but tried to keep the specific form as good we could. Back in -75 i was 11 and already on my 4th year as a hardrocker, i had all albums so far by Kiss, Sweet and Alice, plus albums by Deep P, BÖC... I think "Dressed" was their 3rd album and really never hit me so hard as their maybe weakest album. But "Rock 'n roll over" did/do . 2 years earlier i got to see Sweet, still have 3-4 distant but from second floor "Instamatic camera" photos (the compact hightech camera for the masses). The year after this i was 12 and saw Alice show sitting on my dads (who hated Alice) shoulders ♥ Though on same amusment parks scene i followed him to see Count Basie :) The year after Alice i was 13 and wnet to see "here they are! The amazing Blue Öyster cult! On same scene. Then Thin Lizzy two years in a row (very nice liveband) but one of them i got beat up for nothing by an idiot i just had learned to "know". Kiss odd-but good suggestion: All American Man But damn i still have quite many bands with a big library to intruduce you to as well as many with 1 or a couple true bangers.

Yes, agree, Kiss, before they went bonkers with commercialism and promoted the Kiss Army concept to pre teenagers. They could rock out. For an even better song named Rock Bottom, check out the UFO Classic of the same name with Michael Schenker on lead guitar. The studio version was very influential but you will find the definitive version on UFO's Strangers in the Night Live. One of the top 10 Live Rock albums ever, tight as all hell and raging guitar licks that you will love! Enjoy. 🎸

I love Paul's current voice best, but I also always have liked his star (opposed to the bandit eye makeup he toyed with way back when) when when you asked what look do we like best. Clothing, feel bad for Gene's clothing weighing more as time went on--full armor with boots that weigh like 50 lbs and restricts the ability to walk somewhat. Like this outfit for a spaceman the best. She mentioned Paul's chest hair, not sure if trolls picking on him prompted him to remove some in later years or what, for me it was fine as it was!
