KL - Val & Abby Bond (Season 10)

From the episode "Deserted", just after Val's "suicide" attempt. Everyone is trying to comfort her and show her they care, most surprisingly Abby. Also, clearly it was not for show, as they were alone together in Karen's kitchen. If tuning in to the series for the first time, you'd confuse them for best friends. This almost makes you forget the incident that made them mortal enemies six years prior. It is in this scene their relationship comes full circle, and it has to be one of my favorite moments in the series.

In real life, these ladies are the BEST of friends, even today they are like SISTERS.That is so beautiful.

I love the scene and it works perfectly: Abby doesn’t hate Val, she may despise her lack of ambition but she wouldn’t harm her intentionally. She was just lateral damage when Abby decided that Gary should be hers. And Val feels helpless after her traumatic experience with Jill but can’t really confide in Abby. There are so many things that are not said and that mean so much here.

Abby and Val remind me Jean Grey and Emma Frost on the X-Men.....Val is all heart..... Abby is the villain who is still relatable.

The scene worked i think beacsue the actresses were and still are great friends in real life. Van Ark, Mills , and Lee are besties have been since the early days of the show.

Donna mills said she didn't like how the writers did that so they had to make her a villain again which is why Abby was only nice at the beginning of season 10

I think there were several scenes throughout Donna's tenure that showed she had a heart under all the subterfuge and manipulation.

I also loved the scene when Abby was getting the last of her things at the ranch and Jill walked in looking for Gary. Abby warned Jill that “the first Mrs Ewing, never goes away. EVER!” She was right. lol

Abby is like a fine onion, so many layers. You really don’t know which one she’ll reveal. She can be coldhearted, and a barracuda when it comes to her children.

Jill's twisted vendetta, in order to keep her man, made Gary and Abby's previous affair behind Valene's back, seem like nothing special.

Abby hadn't gotten soft. She just had different layers. Made her more realistic. An all-bad villain seems "cartoonish".

Exactly. I never understood Donna Mills saying Abby had gotten soft. Donna was against the original storyline that had Abby orchestrating the abduction and sale of Val's twins. Donna said Abby is bad, but she would never take children from their mother.

I’d like to watch Knots from the beginning, but, surprisingly, last time I checked, only Season 1 was out, and that was before it really found its groove. And, yes, KL was far more realistic than the others. More in the Peyton Place vein. Donna Mills was the absolute standout.

I remember when Val sucker slapped Abby when she confronted her about sleeping with Gary. I think everyone watching, could feel that slap! 😂 This was a great scene though. ❤

I know this is a late comment, but Patrick Petersen isn't dead. Steve Shaw, the guy who played his older brother on Knots Landing, died in a car accident.

I love this! It's a bit surreal, hearing Pat Peterson say how great it is to be alive, when he commited suicide awhile back. Such a waste of talent

She was killed off half way though season 10 The episode Poor Jill aired February 24,1989..Jill locked herself in the trunk a Gary's car Just by accident Chocked on her own vomit..!!..XD

MrCraigblaze was it really an accident? I think they never knew if she intended to kill herself and put the blame on Gary in the process or if her trick failed and she got trapped in Gary’s car before someone found her.

Abby was a gold digger. Gary was a cheater. Perfect match. Abby never was in love with Gary. She knew he was a Gullible RICH drunk.She slept with Gary's older brother J.R.Ewing. A gold digging HOE. Period. She was willing to do anything for money & power.
