I had used temazapine for a month. Taking 2 x a night as the recommended dose. It did made me sleep but left me feeling unrefreshed in the morning and only got around 5-6 hours of broken sleep. Whereas if I didnt take them I had 6-7 hours of deep sleep and feel better throughout the day. I haven’t been back to the GP to get more as I don’t want to use them. I am now onto 5-htp which is more natural. I will eventually stop these as well

Daniel, I applaud you once again for producing a video that excels in clarity. You're a wonderful teacher. Bravo! And it resonates with me. I was going through some though weeks of life stuff happening, which affected my sleep, and the exhaustion made things a bit harder for me -- so I resorted to Trazodone, knowing fully well that it's efficiency is limited and the perceived effect usually fades with time, but whatever, if it helped a little bit I was happy to take it for now and it made me more at ease knowing that I needn't to wrestle with sleep in the times of peak pressure... So in a way I was subconsciously remembering your "vitaminize it" approach. Do it as a little bit of self care as I do yoga and other stuff as well. And also knowing that it's not such a big deal to come off it again, because sleep always comes again and easy does it.... So watching your fantastic video made me feeling quite content with myself. :-P So thanks for making your way into my semi-consciousness; while I sometimes still have patches of bad sleep, it has no longer the horrible grip around me as it used to.

This made me so glad to read just know 😊!! Thanks a bunch for the support and you know, this shows how education really is with us for life, and how learning leads to subconscious changes, that we may not even know until that moment we needed a reminder from within 🙂! Edda - so glad to hear from you as well 🙂

Hi Daniel- I have followed your work for a long time and watched this video with interest. I have been taking Ambien (5mg) for a couple of years and have really resolved my sleeping issues in the last year- With the encouragement of your work, I choose to use this as an act of "self care" and find that my pattern at night has led me to success most nights. Recently, my news feed seems to keep informing me that Ambien is dangerous and recent studies show an increase in Dementia. Again, fear kicks in...would love your comments, or maybe this is something you might address in a "heard it in the news" video- thank you for all your good work!-

Hi Lynn, So glad things have gotten easier 😊! And you know, I’ve not found any evidence for these scary claims about how Ambien or other sleep medication cause health issues. If you see an article like that, let me know and we can review it 👍

I am trying to wean off of trazadone, but have been taking it wrong for years (taking it whenever I can’t sleep to induce sleep). I have switched recently to taking it each day like a vitamin, but still having anxiety/worry that makes me want to go into my spare bedroom to sleep because I have a much easier time there. What should I do?

Just want to know how some people with insomnia can stay up for days on end sometimes 7 days I've heard , are these people not getting the sleep drive??

Hi, You know I’ll say that we can experience not sleeping for 7 days, but in reality I think after 48 hours or so, sleep starts to happen but we don’t realize it. Why? Hyperarousal, it can keep us awake and also keep us from realizing we were asleep…

Which sleeping tablets can be taken for years ? They all seem to state “take no longer than a few weeks” ?
@thesleepcoachschool8192
@thesleepcoachschool8192 4 ай бұрын
Oh yes this is a good point, they’re not indicated for long term use, but - if they were shown to cause health issues, no doubt they’d be pulled off the market, and we know that they are used for years by millions of people…

Hi, I think this probably applies to taking edibles to sleep. I want to get off of them since I wonder if it could be contributing to decline in memory, attention, focus, cognition. I think for me, I feel the sedation and my brain associates with sleep or relaxes anxiety? I’ve made a few attempts to reduce the dose to wean off and haven’t been successful yet. I plan to make another attempt. I feel like I’m in a truce because it does seem to work for me, in general. Although, some nights I feel hyper aroused by circumstances in my life and on those nights have experienced sleeplessness despite taking the gummies which to your point shows that it doesn’t always work. Also, there have been times when I took the gummies and fell asleep before they kicked in, also more evidence. yet I still find myself thinking they work for me and like I said, when reducing have experienced hyper sleep so went back to the regular dose.

Over the past few month I managed to taper off from 4 mg of xanax to .25 but to quit completely is scary and after one sleepless night I went back on it. I guess one time I will have to power through being awake for days. But when will that be appropriate for me I don’t know. I so do not want to suffer anymore

Drugs for anxiety - yes but people need to understand that they are only for anxiety - If you occasionally take anxiety pills to deal with depression yeh they can help but i agree sleep can't be controlled -
