This video shows you how you can save money on replacement spools instead of buying replacement spools you can reuse the spools that you have. This is a great way to save money on your lawn care.😀

Great video kid ! Keep up the good work ! I found these full spools on Amazon. A "six pack" with a new green replacement cover cap for $15 . But, hey, why waste money when you don't have to ! Besides, with as fast as they change the models and come up with new updated units, you never know when these will be discontinued and they will stop being made ! And the refills will become scarce ! It's always good to have a big stash of these ! Cause, "you never know" ! Thanks again !

Was watching just to see the most simple instructions on how it goes into the machine. Mine came with only one string sticking out and was not sure about the proper one or two string placing. Still didn't say that, but your pics shows two on the spool, so gonna go take money apart and try that. It keeps turning off after running only a few minutes. I think I have the string in wrong and can't a video on that. Thank you.

If you pull off about 18-20feet of line (approximately three wingspans for me), you can cut it in half and wind both top and bottom at the same time. I’ve never bought a new spool, I just keep refilling the one that came with the trimmer. But good tip on the green works/kobalt refills. I’ll have to check clearance sections for those. It would be useful to have some spares ready to pop in.

Eventually, the little diamond areas under the spool will become worn. Where the nubs that lock the spool in place seat. Then it will fail to lock in place properly ! And you will start using far more line than necessary as the line will advance when it doesn't need to.

I would like to see both lines loaded. My issue is how to attach each line to the slotted edge. You said you should have loaded the lower line first. You didn’t explain why. Please due s video where you show how to load each line and then attach to the slotted edges. Thanks!
@michaelhafner7487 Жыл бұрын
The tabs that you jam the line into so it won't unspool are on the other side of the empty space. This means you can't load the second line because the first line is in the way. If he had loaded the other line first, the one closer to the holding tabs, he would be able to wind the second line without any problems.

THanks, this video is well done. The problem I have is when the replacement spools string does not feed, I need to open the unit and rewind the string. Often the string get stuck and will not feed during operation and resetting the spool in the unit is no fun either. Any comments about that? I have the KOBALT 40V model with the same spools that you pictured.
@electriccuts Жыл бұрын
Try not to spool the string too tight. Or stop the string trimmer, remove the battery 🔋 for safety and try to pull on the string to see if it will feed a little bit.

Question 🙋 when you lock the cord in the notches, after winding it. Is that for storage so it doesn’t unwind? When I’m ready to use it, do I simply, un-notch the cord, and feed it through the main spinning assembly? Thanks for teaching me how to be a man 😂🙏🏻

It won't slide back in place, its like you can't get it past the little metal line hole . Help?
@NewHorizonsInTruth Жыл бұрын
Hi Marg - Looking down on the spool, through one of the large holes, you might see one or both of the new lines you wound on poking into the large hole in the middle. This could be stopping you from sliding the spool back in place. If so, you will have to unwind the new line(s) and rewind them. making sure the new line(s) are not too far in. Hope this isn't too late to help you.

@@electriccuts May I ask, why would you need another cap? Can't you reuse the cap that came with the trimmer?
@electriccuts Жыл бұрын
@@paulisakson3221 Sometimes the cap will wear out... especially if you tend to drag the cap on the ground if you are trying to cut weeds all the way to the ground. Or if you are dragging the cap on the pavement trying to get the grass in between the cracks. The proper positioning of the string trimmer, while you are using it, should avoid excessive wear on the cap. And therefore, you can use the string trimmer much longer without needing to buy a new cap.
