Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant has a hilarious reaction when asked if anyone's ever beaten him one-on-one. Plus, relives that JR Rider story where he smoked him at practice.

prime kobe vs prime jordan 1 on 1, I would pull up a chair and get the popcorn out.
@itsmemario66737 жыл бұрын
Would be close but if i were to bet i 'll go with Mj
@isaiahramirez45217 жыл бұрын
its me mario I'd go with kobe... in his prime he was as good a defender as Jordan and as good at the rim, had the same hops, same post game and fader, but he was a better shooter from deep than mj... the only reason Jordan tops Kobe is because Jordan was a better team player and got his teammates involved better than kobe.. but in terms of 1v1.. Kobe says it best, "...its a whole other game.".. Kobe would most likely win.
@itsmemario66737 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of what you say but i dont think he was the same defender as jordan in his prime jordan led the league in steals and was DPOY 1 time if im correct
@itsmemario66737 жыл бұрын
Anyways we can all agree it would be close like if they played in 5 wins it would go like 5-4 , 4-5 or smth like that
@isaiahramirez45217 жыл бұрын
its me mario mj did win dpoy once in 88 I think.. both Kobe and mj have been on 9 all defensive first teams but Kobe was on 3 all defensive second teams as well.. I don't get how some people can always down play kobe's defense... they're so even you could swap their faces and no one would notice on the defensive end, both great lock down defenders who shut down legends.. Kobe was much better from deep though as I've said already... that's a huge advantage when playing 1v1.. I think Kobe would win 2-3 in an epically close series.

Reporter: You versus LeBron? Who wins? Kobe: Me. No question. As far as one-on-one, I’m the best to ever do it. Reporter: Who could get you? Kobe: Kevin Durant is the guy that would give me the most trouble. With his length and ability to use the dribble, he’d be tough. Reporter: I always wanted to see you play Tracy McGrady. Kobe: I played T-Mac. I cooked him. Roasted him. Wasn’t even close. Ask him, he’ll tell you. When I was about 20, we were in Germany doing some promotional stuff for that other sneaker company and we played basketball every day. We were in the gym all the time. We played three games of one-on-one to 11. I won all three games. One game I won 11-2. After the third game he said he had back spasms and couldn’t play anymore. Reporter:What about Kyrie Irving? Kobe: [Huge smile, laugh.] Kyrie’s my boy, but he knows he doesn’t have anything for me. He doesn’t want to see me. But it would be fun. I’ve beaten a lot of guys one-on-one, like Reggie Miller and Grant Hill. I used to play Caron Butler all the time in practice when he was with the Lakers. When I was a rookie I used to get Nick Van Exel and Eddie Jones. They know. They’ll tell you. They used to come at me hard but I wasn’t having that. I love going one-on-one with someone. That’s what I do. I’ve never lost. It’s a whole different game, just to have them right in front of you and be able to do whatever you want.

When Jordan said that Kobe could beat him because he stole his move, that is simply a correct observation. Kobe copy Jordan's moves, he had Hakeem to teach him how to post up. ***** I read about this thing a long time ago. This was when Stackhouse was a beast playing on the Pistons. He beat Jordan one on one yeah that's dandy "so he said." Whether it's true or not, it's unknown. I believe it to be true because in the article, Jordan didn't deny it or say anything. What he did do was man handle Stackhouse in the game though. Supposedly signifying that was Jordan's retort. There was a reason Jordan had respect for Stackhouse when they played for the Wizards after trading him for Hamiliton. Jordan was the franchise player but Stackhouse was their best player.

I personally think kobe can make shots from anyone how ever he wants it I mean he is more skilled than jordan
@JamaicanMeCrazy4 жыл бұрын
It's possible. He basically copied all my moves. MJ said something to that effect years ago.
@SealofPerfection4 жыл бұрын
LOL, nobody is more skilled than Jordan. Not even Kobe. It would be one hell of a game, but I see prime MJ being unbeatable. Kobe took more shots than Jordan. I'd say their overall careers indicate that Jordan was slightly more skilled, although both had the killer instinct.

@Trevon Adams - Kobe doesn't belong at 15, but he damn sure isn't on the mount either. I find the best system to use to rank the best is Rings+MVPs+Finals MVPs with a minimum of 1 each to qualify. Then take best cumulative career stats to resolve any ties . Adjustments to the rule for players who competed pre-finals MVP existing (before 1969): Russell: no FMVP wins when he clearly should have had some, but its balanced by having such a high ring total which was clearly a bit inflated in a 9 team league Wilt: 1 point added for 1967 finals MVP which clearly would have been his had the award existed With that system here is my top 10: 1-Jordan: 6+5+6 = 17 2-Russell: 11+5+0 = 16 3-Kareem: 6+6+2= 14 4-Magic: 5+3+3 = 11 5-Duncan: 5+2+3 = 10 *better cumulative career stats over LeBron* 6-LeBron: 3+4+3 = 10 7-Wilt: 2+4+2 = 8 *better cumulative career stats over Kobe, Shaq, Bird* 8-Kobe = 5+1+2 = 8 *better cumulative career stats over Shaq, Bird* 9-Shaq = 4+1+3=8 *better cumulative career stats over Bird* 10-Bird= 3+3+2 = 8

Jordan said the same thing. They both know each others competitiveness fire. They both know each others skillset. hell, they're damn near similar. It's just one those Obi Wan vs Anakin shit. It could go either way

Very different comparison. Obi and Anakin had completely different styles of fighting. Kobe mirrored Jordan's moves to the point that they could be indistinguishable if they were wearing the same clothes.
