As someone who got bullied a lot for my special interests before figuring out I was autistic, I totally get traffic guy. I used to hide completely innocent parts of my interests because I wanted them to stay special to me and not get ruined by people calling them weird. Y’all crazy. He should never ever ever under any circumstances reveal his dark perverted secret about his ball-pillow period pads. Not every skeleton, kink, perverted thought, and secret needs to be revealed in a relationship. Certain ones will definitely permanently destroy others’ view of you. You don’t think his wife will think he’s a perverted freak for wearing period pads as ball pillows because of the sexual pleasure he gains from it? He needs to just stop. Yes, burying secrets in the deep dark depths of your psyche can be very problematic but not if you cease the activity. He should stop and never tell anyone.

@@rehnaanliker5931Painful menses in a young patient is what would make a doctor think of Endometriosis. Further work up would only be done by a gynecologist because it requires an ultrasound and MRI to diagnose. They don't screen for it, only those who have symptoms get further work up done
@MelissaLawrence20025 ай бұрын
@@rehnaanliker5931 my best piece of advice is to not be seen by a normal gynecologist. Those guys are super easy to find, but they know NOTHING about the disease unfortunately. They are not adequately educated or trained on how to treat it. It is very unfortunate, but finding an endo specialist is very difficult, but 100% crucial. To be diagnosed, you have to do an exploratory laproscopy surgery. You can't find the disease, nor diagnose what stage you are without surgery. While they're in there, your specialist will do what's called excision, where they completely cut out as much of the lesions as absolutely possible. Normal gynecologists can do this laproscopy, but the most they will do is burn the top layer of a few of your lesions. It was a total waste of my time and money doing that surgery (if they say to do ablation surgery, RUN!). Also, don't get discouraged. It totally disabled me for a year and a half before I found the proper help, but now I am able to live my life. Endometriosis is normally just one piece of the puzzle since everything in our body is connected. So another issue I had to take care of was my gallbladder. I had been passing microscopic gallstones every day for years without knowing, so my gallbladder was COVERED in scar tissue functioning at a 13%. You'll most likely be in for a major battle with a million different doctors if you're journey is anything like mine has been, but just remember you deserve the best help there is. This is your life at stake, and you need to advocate for yourself until your voice is completely gone. After that, get out a pen and paper so you can still advocate for yourself. Don't give up! Get a solid support system, I just had my then boyfriend and my mom, and it destroyed many relationships I had, but you need to surround yourself with people that will fight for you as well. If you want a great resource for community, education, and finding specialists from all over the world, I HIGHLY recommend joining the Nancy's Nook Endometriosis page on Facebook. It's a private group, but it's not hard to get accepted. My mom found it, and we both follow it. That page is how we learned that my gynecologist was trying to force me into treatment that would only have more side effects than what it's worth (she wanted to force me into menopause, don't trust anyone who tries to do that to you). We also were able to find my specialist who did my excision surgery back in February of 2021 through this page, so I really do think you should join that page if you are serious about finding help and knowing more about what your body is experiencing. I'm stage 1, but don't let that fool you. You can be stage 4 and never find out, or be stage 1 and become bound to your bed for all 4 weeks of your menstrual cycle. If you have more questions for me, definitely let me know. You are totally capable of overcoming this silent disease, but don't give up.

I do traffic surveys for Penn Dot in Allegheny county. Pittsburgh, mostly. I watch traffic cams for hours every day, and set up devices that record ADT (average daily traffic) on every road in our district. To find out that someone does this as a hobby is very confusing and alarming to me. It’s incredibly boring and repetitive. Every day is 99% the same. I’m just shocked that anyone would be interested enough to do it for free. I make $72k a year to do it 40 hours a week and that’s barely enough to keep me around. I wouldn’t do it for any less, that’s for sure. It drives me crazy

Lots of people on the spectrum have special interests that sometimes they feel the need to hide because maybe they haven't unmasked, haven't shared with their partner that they're on the spectrum, or have faced ridicule in the past when their special interest was discovered by other people, or maybe even all three. The older we get, the more difficult it can become to come out and share these things with people for fear of infantilization by our peers or just straight up rejection. Obviously this is pure speculation with the first confession on the video, but with an interest as such, that's usually the case. Anyway, the more you know!
