In this scenario, you play as Alexios Komnenos as he attempts to restore the Byzantine Empire to its former glory. You have to balance your popular support with conquests of former Byzantine cities, as well as the raids from both the Normans and the Seljuks.

the pretenders also attack when your legitimacy falls below 50.

This is the end for the Byzantines, and what a great scenario it is. But the final battle against the Pretender army was pretty easy when you do the Byzantine thing of turtling behind your defenses. I'd expect nothing less from the Byzantine scenario of this DLC.

Pretenders attacked me around this time... I did reverse of what you did, liberated Greece and Italy before going Anatolia, after defeating Fatimids and Seljuks they appeared so I think they either attack at year 1100 or after you defeat Normans and Seljuks

The scenario bugged out for me and never acknowledged my victory declaration. I guess I’ll just redo it later, since I played with standard difficulty and the events were kind of pushovers… For me the big blue pretender sussy rush attacked me only during freeplay, so I had defeated both Seljuks and Normans and had 90+ legit.

The Pretenders are supposed to be the grand final battle after beeing successful on all other fronts, as long as you not wasted your military in dubious landing operations they should be no match for Komnenos army

No need landing operation, and not even need militaries, towers can do most heavy duty jobs

And i would walled / trapped them off the walls, and my onagers would just mercilessly crush them, just like the horse lords in 1092

Ich hab jetzt Gefühl tausend Mal Versuch mich mit dem neuen dlc warm zu werden im Gegensatz zum letzten kann man einfach nur es ist kacke und ich bin maßlos enttäuscht das erinnert ein bisschen gild 2 das hat auch nie jemand verstanden
