I’m a huge blink! But I will say that something felt very odd this comeback. It seemed as if the girls weren’t really excited to Actually be back after so long.. the lack of energy started from the promotions, and you could feel some strange tension in the air. This makes me so extremely sad! But this is what happens when a group is not having consistent comebacks, they eventually grow apart and developing other internets other than music and preforming.

i’ve been a blackpink fan long before rosé turned blonde, and to me is clear that their energy is just different. i don’t know how to explain it, but it seems like they got bored of the group (and i personally think it was due to their many hiatus), as yg constantly lacked in giving them group promotions they found something else that could fulfill their passions and also give them more freedom

I’m not a BP stan but I casually listen to them since I listen to kpop. My only problem with them underperforming is they are dubbed as the “biggest girl group in the world” so naturally people expect them to have a level of professionalism and a higher level of performance compared to these other groups. Although I know some problems are rooted from the company and management but I just wished they somehow have the initiative to do better on their own.

The final nail in the coffin for me was when Jennie even said (Elle interview posted just 3 days ago @ 1:00) that they didn’t sleep for four days while shooting a mv and they learned the choreography of shut down (I think first day of shooting?) last minute, like it was just thrown on them. Excuse me! that shouldn’t even happen, you had HOW LONG to prepare for A WORKD TOUR!? Management is also to blame however, what have the girls been doing all this time if not preparing for the album+ tour? Why couldn’t they have fit learning the choreography ahead of time into their schedules? Even when they had their individual projects they all had long intervals of breaks where they weren’t promoting solo work so explain this to me.

I am a blink for 6 years now , and it would be hard for any blink to accept the disbandment of blackpink , but as my opinion if the girls wants to disband , or its hard for them to perform as a group its okay. If they are more happy with solo promotions we should support them no matter what.

I think that the disbandment might happen, mostly because all the groups that are older than 7 years have the tendency of not having a lot to comebacks and focus more on solos. Black pink Has this path even before the 7 years, making even harder to see a future with them plus many people are leaving YG; so their future is kinda complicated. Even if they leave and change agency the probability of having a comeback as a group is hard (most group that are in this situation only have one special presentation and that’s it).

Just because you have a fight with a member doesn’t mean you should underperform and make the rest of the group look bad. Professional and personal relationships should be dealt with separately.

yk as someone who stanned bp during the first few years since their debut, its kinda sad to see how their career AS A GROUP progressed. after the inconsistent comebacks i was starting to see the girls as separate influencers rather than girl group members/idols, and eventually i started losing interest in their projects. it didnt help that a good portion of the fandom were solo stans and constantly hating on other members. i still love the girls and hopefully all of this blows over.

I have been a blink since debut, i have never, ever loved any group as much as i loved blackpink. THEY were what got me into kpop in the first place. So yeah, i have seen it all, i have witnessed every comeback, i have witnessed every teaser, i have witnessed every controversy. I have seen all of their vlives (remember when that was a thing?) since 2016/2017. I was A DEVOTED blink for the period of 2016-2018. Like i was legit obsessed back then. For me at least, something has shifted in blackpink in 2019 after their comeback with “LET’S KILL THIS LOVE” i was still very obviously excited for that, but since then; something has changed. And i can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe because they become mainstream? Maybe because every member started focusing more in her solo activities? I don’t know. Since then, their main titles became unlistenable to me. I would literally get so excited and attend the comeback premier only to be extremely disappointed by the end of it. Suddenly, everyone’s focus was how much the MV costed ? How many views can we get on the release day? How many groups are we going to surpass in the the release day views? How are we going to diss the “haters” in our music lyrics? They lost their touch, i still follow them and watch their news from time to time, but i feel i lost my passion for them completely right know. Its so weird, its like looking at someone you have always loved and not recognize them. You begin to question yourself “did i actually like this group THAT MUCH?” It feels so odd and foreign to me. I cannot recognize my love or passion for them anymore, let alone the members, the group, the songs… it lost all meaning to me now. And its incredibly sad.

I’m not a hardcore Blink, but I do like them, and it’s just a shame how YG has mismanaged their (And Somi’s) release/comeback schedules. I hope that whatever happens, that it’s what the girls, themselves want.

As a blink/big fan of them since pre-debut, I attended BOTH their world tours in Hamilton back in 2019 and now the most recent one this November 2022. I think those clips that other people have spread on the internet look pretty bad but when I went to their concert just a few days ago, I found all the members working very hard, dancing a lot, and especially I was surprised by Jennie's energy, you could literally hear her yelling into her mic each time when rapping or singing, and hyping the crowd (I even have many clips of the concert that showcase this). I felt like each of the members were all still on good terms since in the encores where they casually sing their B-side songs in their concert merch and without a dance routine, there was so much interaction between Rose/Lisa and Jisoo/Jennie. They were hugging, making hearts, dancing together, and even hyping each other up to twerk etc. Even in the beginning, Jennie almost injured her ankle but she sat down for a few seconds to re-tie her boots and Lisa and Rose both checked up on her during it. As well, in the VIP send-off, fans were telling Jisoo how excited they are for her solo song and she responded saying she's really excited and can't wait for it too. I don't think that Blackpink will disband as it seems like they do want to stay together as a group, but I think they are tired of their old songs and want more musical freedom for sure.

Saw them in L.A. on 11/19/22. Blackpink and Blinks were in sync. Everyone was jumping and had a monster great time. Rose’ even said she never heard an audience so loud. They looked like they were having a lot of fun. If they disband, it’ll be because it’s time for something new; not because they don’t get along.

My energy for Blackpink died out when they take 2 full years without anything and I know other groups do that too but at least other groups have consistent variety shows and solos here and there to keep us engaged

See, I don't actually think they would disband. Like whatever the media says, the girls themselves have never indicated anything towards disbandment. However, if they do decide to go solo, it's literally out of our control. So, we should just support them and their decisions.

i don't think they will officially disband, however i do believe that after tour they will go on another long hiatus like before and focus on their solo projects more seriously. instead of them releasing a couple songs each, i believe they will release full albums and maybe go on tour individually. blackpink are the second biggest kpop group and them announcing their disbandment seems unlikely, especially considering that they are not overworked or burnt out at all. that being said, whatever happens i'll support them 100%

The group needs to realize that they're famous and getting brand endorsements because they are Blackpink. A disbandment may reduce their popularity and their worthiness as brand ambassadors. As for going solo, not everyone is going to be successful. Look at some of the groups in the US and UK that broke up. They need to keep this gig going.

DISCLAIMER: While I am aware that the criticism I share in this comment might be considered harsh, I want to make clear that it is not coming from a place of hate, but rather just frustration. I started out as a fan of BP and was really rooting for them at the beginning of their career, but I'm also a fan of music and k-pop and I don't think it's fair to blindly support mediocrity at the expense of groups/artists that are more deserving. BP are the perfect example of how far one can get in the industry when one is beautiful, because honestly, that is all they have going for them (please note that I am talking about the group and not the individuals. I think Lisa is an incredible performer and Rose is a great vocalist). They give me NOTHING and have been giving me NOTHING for years. I started out as a fan, but I can't say I've enjoyed anything they've released since 뚜두뚜두, which came out 5 years ago. As a k-pop fan of over 15 years I find it incredibly offensive when an agency treats fans as these brainless zombies that will just support everything and keep buying everything no matter the quality of the output. Why is it that a group with only 2 studio albums has 4 live albums? Make it make sense. And the dumb thing is that fans keep buying and supporting this nonsense. The songs they have released since 2018 have been the same song over and over and over, and yet people keep supporting it. Meanwhile, there are so many incredibly talented and hardworking idols that are much more deserving of BP's fame but get completely overlooked because they are from smaller companies (or maybe not as physically attractive as the BP girls are). Even their seniors, 2NE1, a far more talented group in my humble opinion, were disbanded for no fucking reason other than that YG wanted to bet everything on BP (in my opinion because they are conventionally more attractive girls. It is no secret that YG thought the 2NE1 girls were ugly and even said it to their face multiple times). I understand that this has always been the case in the industry, but I think that as k-pop becomes more global we need to start thinking about whether we want beauty to be the new standard, and whether we want these ridiculous beauty standards that have been upheld in the k-pop industry for so long to transfer to other markets. We need to stop rewarding beauty without substance. And we need to demand agencies give us quality MUSIC, because k-pop is about music, ultimately. Nothing wrong with having good visuals, but if there's no real talent to back it up then you are just taking up space for nothing. Disband BP, let's see which one of these girls can hold up in the industry on their own.

As a competitive dancer myself, I don’t understand how ppl can defend them. They have been in the industry for a very long time, and they have had plenty of off time to work on their skills. Not to mention that they have a very little number of songs with choreography so it shouldn’t be that hard to remember if they actually tried. Also they are so unsynchronized even when they have only four members. There are groups that are in sync with much larger amounts of members. I mean how hard can it be to be in sync with each other especially when their choreography is much easier than some other groups?? And for those saying they are humans and make mistakes: yes that is true but this amount of carelessness is unacceptable when you are at their level of popularity. This is their job and remembering choreo and being synchronized is the bare minimum. There are so many unrecognized rookie groups that always give their best performance while Blackpink is out here performing like this and still being labeled as the biggest gg in the world. Just doesn’t sit right with me.

I went to both concerts in Dallas , Houston and Day 1 of ATL. The concerts were all great, my only slight complaint was that the concerts seemed short...but maybe that is because of the saying "time flies when you're having fun". Either way the concerts were worth every dollar I spent, and I still have one more concert to attend in CA. As for them disbanding, I won't believe a thing about it until I hear about something from either YG or the Pinks themselves. If they stay as a group that is great! IMO they are at their best as OT4. If not, they each can have really strong solo careers in music, modeling or acting. Even as a "Jisoo Stan" I will definitely still support Jennie, Lisa and Rose if the Pinks disband.

I honestly think they might want to do other things now. They won't disband just like that, but it feels like they want to do more for their songs, have more autonomy over it. They seemed bored out of their minds in that concert, and honestly maybe they didn't even want to come back yet.

As a casual Blackpink listener I can definitely see that their dynamic has changed. I don’t necessarily think it means they aren’t friends just, that they outgrew each other during their hiatus. It seems as though they have a more of a co worker relationship than familial which makes sense as they weren’t seen together during that two year period. It’s probably hard to reconnect and be as close as they originally were before because they are different people now (more mature). Sometimes these things just happen. I wouldn’t be suprised if disbandment is in the near future. I saw some comments say that each of the girls won’t be successful as solo artist but I don’t think that’s true. Rather it is because there are so many solo stans that they are able to have established solo projects already apart from the group. This tour is also probably YG’a last attempt to get money from blinks before their contracts are up, hence why the ticket prices are so high. Regardless, who knows what the future holds Im sure whatever the outcome, the girls will remain happy.

I've been saying it for years but the girls are just not having fun! they don't like being idols or in a group, and they are obviously not very close, which is not surprising considering they don't even spend much time together. I remember hearing somewhere that the plan when they debuted was to have them release a few singles as a group and then mostly model and promote stuff, and that the success was a bit unexpected. it explains a lot- their lack of professionalism, lack of songs, the long breaks etc... in a way it worked well for them, it built up an air of mystery and anticipation, but we're now seeing it getting back at them... with all the new 4th gen groups who are out there doing the absolute most, their flaws are becoming extremely obvious, and with how drained and lacking passion the girls are they just can't put up a good fight. it's extremely clear that bp is going to go their own different ways after this tour.

YG just dropped the ball (again). It's hiatus after hiatus with barely giving them any songs to keep their motivation going. I still remember a few years ago after a concert where one of the members said they'd love to perform more songs, but they just didnt have any. The big amount of solo content is also doomed to pit members against each other even if they do love each other in the end. Honestly i think the girls are in a hard position. YG has plans to debut a new gg and this days every new girl group grow super fast, BP has the name and the brand, but for how long? The new gg will be presented as «The new BlackPink» (they did it with them, YG and media called BP «The new 2EN1») and people will be interest in them just because of that. Most probably YG will renew their contract just to make a little more money while their new gg makes a name for themselves and become profitable for them and once that happens they will throw BP under the bus (just like they did with 2EN1) Also. Yes, the girls are their money maker but if YG lost them they won't lost that much, they still can debut more groups. But if BP lost YG they will lose their brand and what comes with it. Plus, all the songs the girls have belong to Teddy so it will be a little hard for them to perform again those songs so even if they bought their brand they will lost their songs... With their contracts coming to an end and Baby Monster on the horizon plus all the members individual endeavors, I really don't see them continuing as a group. Out of the group to me Lisa made the least mistakes-she’s the only one that’s been consistent with giving BLINKE what they paid for. It’s crazy to see how things are looking for BLACKPINK as they were my first group to deep dive into! Things do look a bit under the water right now though. I think with blackpink they want more comebacks but YG only let's them have a comeback once every two years. How do you expect them to perform. Ahhh, I used to be a BLINK. I used to anticipate every comeback, buy everything I could get my hands on and stream, stream, stream. But the length of time between music releases, the fact that their music is feeling more and more like CTRL C + CTRL V, the bogus, manipulated music video views, and that they spend more time on fashion and CFs... I got bored and went elsewhere. They're all gorgeous, talented, smart women, but I don't think they're musicians anymore. They're models who occasionally sing and dance, and that's okay. I just wish they wouldn't pretend otherwise anymore.

Bottom line is that fans pay alot of money for a tour ticket. All artists should give their fans 100%

They're not kpop idols anymore. They're influencers representing designer brands. It's so clear that they lack practice and some blinks just can't accept the fact and y'all need to stop defending them like they're some babies who just learned to walk. people are not paying thousands of dollars just to see them moving in the stage. The group was well-bonded. The hiatus has made them apart each focusing on their solo careers. There haven't even been many group interactions or B-side clips of them finally spending time together. The way they performed at the concert makes me think that their dance practice videos were way better. They are doing injustice to so many trainees who din't get a chance to debut. AND, the fact that Rose, Lisa and Jennie were lip syncing during their solo's, makes me wonder why were they even focus SO MUCH on their solo's if they weren't even going to sing and just dance. Members fighting is not unusual but there's a fine line between healthy and unhealthy relationships I guess. Like SHINee's Key and Minho are very open about how much they used to fight earlier on in their career, but they were able to set aside their differences and work together without it affecting their performances (now they're much closer and acknowledge their differences). I think the issue comes in when it's a very public dislike between members; in the worst case, it can lead to fans feeling awkward and the performance falling apart. Ofc all this being said, I don't think any of the "evidence" means much; just looks like they maybe aren't as close as they were a few years ago which makes sense given the long gap I guess. Not the worst thing to happen but if they are planning to continue as a group, these things will definitely affect their work in the long term.

I doubt they will ever DISBAND. It will be one of those FX moments where the announcement will never come but everyone can see that they are doing their own thing.

As an old blink I honestly do think they should disband… they all have different things they love, I think Jisoo should be an Actress and part time singer, Lisa a dancer, Jennie a Influencer, and Rosié a singer and singer writter. 💗🖤

Honestly, I'll be happy if they disband. Not because I hate them, but because it's obvious how little passion they have for music (except Rosie). It feels like one actress, two models and one indie singer perform a song or two every now and then (and I'm saying "perform", because we all know how little the members participate in the writing and producing their musical content). They already have their fame, each member has her own huge fanbase, so the girls can go their separate ways officially. Now it's not official, but we all can see what's going on - they can't even ACT excited while performing or doing group activities, it's that bad... And I don't think it's because they communicate rarely. I mean look at SNSD - so many years in the industry, every member does her own thing, but their comeback this year was such a banger. Not only the song was good, but you could feel the energy, the chemistry, you could feel that they missed each other, the fans, the stage as one, as a group. With BP I'm not feeling any of these things... So if it's such a burden for them, let them end their contract, disband and just do what they wanna do.

YGE has killed the group and this disbandment will be one of the most tragic disbandments there is clearly some distance in the members now they are not that close anymore like u can feel it they are just very over worked and tired at this point and as much as i hate to say it they must disband for themselves

I wouldn't blame them if they wanted to disband. The fans waited 2 years for a comeback, and when they did comeback people thought it was disappointing. The fans are the motivation for these idols, and if they aren't happy with their latest album, then they might want to disband.

The problem with blackpink is not blackpink itself but with yg.

I feel like YG keeps trying to maintain this image of BP to get profit but the girls are sick of it and sick of not being able to be themselves and produce anything authentic and sick of how things are run, but they have a contract so they have to continue to be BP.

Casual fan here-- I really do not know them as a bp member or them as individual, I just liked the group's songs. Just my two cents: I have seen/watched them since their debut, saw a very promising group. They were an A -list performer but as time goes by especially this comeback I saw no fire at all that they used to have back in their debut days or before they had this 2+ year hiatus. They do know how perform basing on their previous performance years ago, they can perform well as a group and that's why I am kinda half half about the concerts. I hope this tour will be a success and whatever decision they'd come to after this, I hope they're happy.

I don't think there are really any clear signs of disbandment or problems in the members' relationships. The only real difference is that for this comeback there was no reality show made to go along with the comeback. Instead, they went straight into the world tour. In the past, we got to see them having a lot of fun with each other in Blackpink House and in "The Album" era we got to see them having a lot of fun together in the "24/365" show. It makes a difference in perception. With fresh memories of them joking with each other and going places together in those shows, fans perceive them as being very close. This time, that kind of show was not made, so fans don't have that same perception. But in reality, there is no reason to think that they aren't just as close as they always have been. But they are older, more experienced and have had a lot more success. So their more mature way of behaving may be misinterpreted as them being less close with each other.

Been saying since HYLT promotions bp started acting like they wanna split and go solo but blinks wanna give threats cause I’m talking trash about bp but nvm them idiots but this comeback proved my point even more. They’re getting every lack luster and can’t seem to find common ground in performing as an almost 7 year old group that never has comebacks which is crazy but oh well one thing for sure is they definitely needed before your was more training for vocals and dance as well as stability cause these recent performances ain’t it ngl rookie are outdoing them remind you this is an almost SEVEN year old group that haven’t had a comeback in years so there’s absolutely no excuses “it was their first concert in years and they were nervous”- ok and?? Many groups and soloist had performed for the first times in their lives in front of live audience and absolutely slayed meanwhile bp doing THE absolute bear minimum for fans that be paying by deters of dollars to get it like make it make sense plz blinks (also sorry for getting off topic lolz

I went to ATL - Day 2 and it was so freaking fun and hype! Don’t believe everything you see… people will take a short 10 second clip and put their own narrative on it to create controversy. Rosie and Lisa joked about pole dancing to Lisa’s solo, so I think they are on good terms lol.
