Back for another Koolau traverse on a beautiful day here on Oahu, Hawaii. This time we hike from Konahuanui (K2) to Mt. Olympus. A beautiful traverse in the Koolau Mountains with amazing views but some obstacles on the way.

Haha, true. You love Olomana! By the way Ahiki is my favorite peak on the island with Ohulehule and Lanihuli.

@@HungaroExplorer Ahiki is also my number 1, Lanihuli is my second favorite, I call her my lil soup bowl because I love watching how she collects the clouds in that little basin towards her peak

At around 6:24, when Nandor talks about bypassing the summit trail by taking the old Castle trail, if you look to the right of him, you can see a pink trail ribbon marking the trail. It's about 10 feet down from where he is walking.

Awesome hike, thanks! Beautiful day and great camera work as always. Not much you can do on super sunny days unless you can get a filter on the lens. I didn't get to do the hike to Mt. Olympus last summer, (did make the Moanalua Valley trail to the Haiku stairs though) so hoping to get there this coming summer. Thanks for the motivation.

I am glad I could motivate you! Yes, you are right, using a polarizer filter would help, but for a small action canera I don’t bother. I could make it look ok :)

wow getting up to the flats and having that view of Konahuanui, you know its gonna be a good day! Fantastic, I can't wait to try this one, I haven't yet touched that section of the KST between k2 and Olympus edit to talk about the new gear: the sound is very even when you talk, more than before the transition between music/background hiking sounds and when you start to narrate is much smoother. I'm not sure if that's an editing thing or just the quality of the new camera, but it's nice!

Mahalo for your feedback! I know you are watching my videos for a while, so it feels good that you are sharing your opinion. The smoothness is just a bit of editing technique but the actual sound from this little camera is really good. That section of the KST is one of the longest traverses on the South, but is one of the nicest too. Just take your time when you go, follow the faint trail and you should be good. 🤙🏻
