I personally would like some plot. What are these villager's story (other than just wanting to be a superstar or whatever), tell me more, make me care

I feel like in the next game, Nintendo should make sure that the game STARTS with the most needed QOL updates rather than finishing with them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that most of the 2.0 updates should've been there since the start of the game.

I feel like ACNH was the perfect game minus a few minor upgrades that could've made it better. Being able to go from NMTs island straight to the next would be amazing, being able to know if you already have an item before buying it, more villager dialogue, a longer story line, I seriously was shocked that it took hardly nothing to get KK slider to your island, faster way to terraform, trying to clear your whole island to start from scratch takes so long it makes you not want to do it. Other than that I think this game is one of the best games I've ever played.

We need volume sliders for the environment and music and stuff like that for when you're running around outside your Island. Basically every other game in the world has it

Yess I agree with these points, and I really hope we get a better multiplayer experience with the next game! I also hope they bring back some of the special characters that are missing in New Horizons. Even without all of the features from the previous games, I think that New Horizons has the most replay ability in the series. The features that they added in this game were a major step in the right direction, and I have high hopes for the next one that comes out. Nice video :D

This is minor but I’d love to be able to change the name of the island and possibly our characters name. This way if we change our theme we can have a fitting names.

As much as I did enjoy the new concept of having an island, it was something new and fresh - I can’t help but miss the feel of the old games, the cozy and foresty feel, the old music.. Like you mentioned I miss being able to go to the city and actually having to save up bells rather than having too much to know what to do with. Villagers desperately need more dialogue, I remember being excited to talk to my villagers to see what they have to say, but now it’s just the same thing over and over

I want an Animal Crossing game with a 360 camera, instead of the one-view camera we currently have in Animal Crossing. Video game consoles are getting more powerful with every generation released, and I want to see Animal Crossing take advantage of that power. I'm also willing to pay for DLCs if it means getting to play the game for several years.

I put a ton of hours into acnh and I loved it. But I think mini games could have made it exponentially better.

I would personally love a new game where you are in a city and you take care of a city park. I feel like there could be many things to do in a city and a great chance for them to bring back many characters and introduce new ones.

I feel like a cool idea for the next animal crossing game could be “Animal crossing: help wanted” and I know it sounds like fnaf vr this isn’t the final idea so idgaf. But basically the city would come back with each of the shops, and basically you would work for the shops. Along them would come with a story mode, like maybe you would have to ask your villagers for their favorite clothing to make an outfit with their villagers favorite clothing, or maybe nooks cranny is out of stock so you have to do small minigames in order to get more stuff. Brewsters is self explanatory. But stuff like that would make the game fun imo

Although this was my first delve into the AC world, and it only lasted a year or so. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Because I’ll always associate “that year” with AC I caught everything, I made my island somewhat pretty and I met a few nice people along the way. And I’ll always be grateful for it, it helped not just me but I assume a lot of people through a shit time. Oh and Mini games would have extended its lifespan 100 fold…

Sassy. Villagers. It has been since the original installment since we’ve had unique, sassy dialogue for our villagers and be able to request work from them. COPPER AND BOOKER. I miss them so much. They haven’t had a prominent role since the original too (except 3ds but it was HARD to get the police station and even then, you could only get one of them) I miss the post office. I miss the drama, the gossip, and most importantly the characters from the post office. I really miss the town square area? Like in the original and new leaf, you could always go to the town tree/fountain to find villagers. I’d really really like them to NOT bring back crafting. It was fun for like… 3 months but I’m sick of my tools breaking and I never go to the store to buy furniture because of crafting. Kind of dumb but I miss the “games” from the 3ds in the new leaf version. Playing the island game was fun! Finally, it’s about time we get a capybara villager. Make it happen Nintendo.

i really like the whole deserted island idea, but now that i have almost everything done it feels like it limits the game, the concept i would love for a new AC game is a city, i want a lot of characters together and not having to limit it because... you are in an island

I love the idea of mining or choose your own adventure style ( like an old west village, a mountain village, a city, an archaeological site) or ways to visit those by train or boat for cool new items) Love animal crossing, but it has become daily “chore” focused to grind for what I need- since I don’t do treasure islands or time travel

It would be nice if they gave a easier way to get the fruits you can’t get except by visiting friends who have them. Especially if you can’t visit to get them unless you have an online subscription

I think animal crossing will hit a new level when AI is finally able to hold 100% real conversations that make sense in the setting. That way the villagers could have infinite "lines" and even remember stuff u've talked about. They could also give that AI the ability to do some things when they fit, like having a conversation about friends ends up in them wanting to send a present to another villager

I really hope the next game still has the deserted island feel that ACNH has. But yeah, I would definitely like more dialogue from characters and I kinda wish that Isabelle and Tom nook would walk around the island sometimes lol

Maybe some gloves, bracelets or earrings in the next game would be great.

They should add high lights in hair dye like streaks or highlight and fade or half and half I would love to have two tone hair along with more islands to go to like an actual shopping district island instead of just harvs island with trailers

Pocket camp was GOOD because the villagers had quests. They wanted bugs, fruit, fish, and more. And there was little cutscenes sometimes. And when you changed a villagers clothes sometimes there would ALSO be a cutscenes.

I really want to see a plaza with all the shops ( especially the HHP facilities) and maybe have some more activities to play with friends ( or go to random people islands and be able to chose forest or island or even be able to make a park !)

It’s the lack of villager personality (and other NPCs) that has put me off playing the game in general. It’s awesome we can terraform but for me it’s not a worthy trade off if it means losing proper villager personalities

Honestly it could take another near-decade to make another Animal Crossing game, or a full one if developers need to focus on other games as well, but I don't think that Nintendo would just abandon a game that's been out for no longer than 1 year (as of January 23, 2022).

New Horizons is a fantastic game, I have been playing AC for about 14 years now (since City Folk) and I have played my fair share of City Folk, New Leaf and New Horizons, but I still feel as if the game is unfinished. I miss seeing Pete walk around at 5pm and 9am "delivering" mail. Pelly and Phyllis too. I think the post office should have been its own building. I think Booker and Copper having a lost and found station like New Leaf would have been fun. I think Nintendo should be keeping every dialogue from every game, and just add more as time goes on. I still wish that villagers would get angry and have a lot more emotion rather than them always being happy. Imagine how rare it would be to see repeat dialogue if that was the case? I do agree with your concerns with Multiplayer 100%. Again, I am not bashing ACNH but it's SO close to being perfect. I do think Nintendo struck the nail on the head with the graphics, this game is so pretty, and I didn't realize how bad new leaf looked until I went back and played it.

My idea for the new AC is similar to City Folk but with major updates from NH. You can still place furniture outside and upgrade your house. But the town is in pretty rough shape! The main catch is that you are in the forest in a small town. Say 5 or 6 villagers- one of each of the personality types. You only have a small shop- nooks. No clothing- just tools and furniture! And you’re just a neighbor, not the mayor by title or anything. So what you do in the town makes it better. Then you unlock the option to visit the City through the underground subway station after fixing it up. Now I want this city to be HUGE. Every character returning. New characters! Even apartment complexes that villagers are living in that you could get to know and befriend and visit. More story and progression here through friendships and shop owners. Maybe a few apartment dwelling animals decide to move to your town for a simpler life. Making your town full up to 8 (one for each villager personality) Finally, you get the opportunity to help shops grow (obviously fill the museum, help kicks get his own shop, invite flick and Cj to your town to do events like the big off fishing tourney, etc) and you get pulled into fixing up the park in the city because you know so much about living in small town forest haha Heavy emphasis on building relationships, fixing up broken and dilapidated things, and being a small piece of a huge world. You’re not God in this AC title lol. Designing your house and town are more of an optional feature that adds to the preexisting things.

Make the current capn’s island set as a special island option in the airport and bring back tortimers island, add the remaining two needed store upgrades, return the coffee mini game, make fish size and bug rarity from the contests return and then I would be so much happier. I would love to see room shape options in town hall to allow users to change shape of the room or access the larger side rooms from previous games so users have more control over the house and so there will be another money sink and allow CJ to sell fish bait when fishing tournaments return come around would be nice too.

My prediction is that the next game is going to have something to do with mountains, like maybe your area is at the base of a giant mountain and you use the mountain to access certain things or get certain materials

The thing I would really love would be furniture that's like an arcade or a monopoly board. You can play with your friends but also you can play by yourself to pass the time.

Something I'm surprised they haven't added yet is more interesting ways to display fish, bugs, creatures etc. I feel like if I could put my critters in customisable aquariums or just have more options aside from the ugly tanks they come in I'd be so much more interested in collecting them all. The museum is beautiful, maybe even options to modify the exhibits could be cool? But dangit just give me a wall aquarium nintendo please!

The next game will be Animal Crossing: Cave Town. Tom Nook tried to time travel and predict the stock market but accidentally travelled back to cave times. Mr. Rossetti will be there and will reset Tom Nook to default mode. Then, there will be paid dlc which involves staring at a stone wall hoping for the next update to arrive soon. This game will also play in crisp 10p on Nintendos brand new hybrid console, The Rock 🪨.

I just got a Switch and AC and the game is done. That’s disappointing but two years of support isn’t nothing. I still have stuff to explore. Your videos have been very helpful too!

my biggest wishlist item for the next animal crossing game is for the buildings from the dlc to come to our island!! i think it would be so cute to have an actual city bustling with villagers. (and of course better villager interactions)

Some really great ideas for a new Animal Crossing game was brought up by the KZfaqr Scruffy. He did a fan-made soundtrack for a supposed future Animal Crossing and in the descriptions of his videos he gave some ideas such as: - instead of just a city, multiple districts to travel to with different themes - Having Isabelle as Mayor of the town (which she deserves) - Better house customisation, things like adding a bowling alley or other specific rooms. I recommend checking those videos out, both for the ideas and the music.

I got it in January for me and my 6 year old son to play together. He got bored with it because as he put it, there’s no boss or enemies to fight lol

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could open up a store that everyone on your island would visit, a library or making visits to a place where you can find different fruits, a grocery store and maybe a city or an area in the city where there is an apartment complex that you get to design and make it sort of like happy home designs, but at the end you can design your own vacation home or apartment, with the resources they provide a.k.a. you wouldn’t have to pay for it

I feel like the common sentiment is "basically new leaf but with terraforming" and I do have to say I agree, but I'd also like some of the spicier dialogue from the first games. Animal Crossing doesn't need to do a whole lot to be great. It just is.

I hope people realized, that if a new game does come out in the future, it would be probably in about 10-15 years. It’s crazy to think how different the picture quality of new horizons looks compared to new leaf looks, and it’s hard to think of what it will look like in the future.

I'd personally love to see.. Best friends mechanic expanded: 1- A join/ follow me option when you become a best friend with up to three of your favorite residents (4 total seems to be a theme). This allowing from mini games, picnics and other interactions that add to the infinite replay value of the game. 2- Sleep overs with best friends and online friends consisting of shared snacks (everyone contributes and the end result gives some effect to the overall sleep over), a mini game, possible one off trades between villagers and player(s) and a chance to get their photo after building on friendships and of course the chat between everyone before lights out. 3- maybe a relationship meter to know how a resident feels about you down to how you interact with them? This could also help bring back the older more interesting dialogues of the sassy/ passive aggressive to the nice and sweet conversations. 4- the return of console games like the old collectable snes and so on, only with multiplayer or besties being able to take multiplayer slots in pvp or coop games. Choose what manner of area your living in (Forest/ City/ Sea Side ect each with their own charms and perks) but all can be visited when earning their corresponding travel passes. Actually have a choice to play as an animal villager if you wish with a more in depth character editor. Keep the best QoL updates AC has given us in each entry to the series. Like how Brewster would store Gyroids, Recycling bin/ lost and found/ half square positioning, terraforming and so on. New additions like a mine for ore and gyroid hunting with an appropriate limitation so it isn't abused. An Auction house hosted in the City. Sell what you grow or no longer need in an auction. Refurbished goods or bundled groceries ect net a higher sell price for the Residents to bid over. And maybe have it so the auction can only be used once a week, much like K.K's visits. You set what day to host it, and have a weekly refresh if you need to redo the day your auction runs (again so it's not abused) You'd be at the auction whilst a special resident sells all your items to your entire home area, sales amounts are unknown but you'll have a board outside the auction house showing what's desired most each week and what isn't. Host a weekly event of your choice and have various chores to do to complete the requirements to host it (adds more to do) If you have any best friends, you can even assign them a job to help out, like a free pass on a chore. Being able to ask Residents if they'd like to play a game (A way to initialize mini games with any resident, those not living in your area could be persuaded to join your place much like New Horizons if you asked someone else to leave, if your full capacity) Having Special characters have their own home and days off where normal residents can stand in at their work place (you could even request residents to switch if you need a working temp for something else) Befriending special characters. We've all seen them warm up to us, but outside of that one time Isabelle came to the beach with us whilst looking to place our home.. their pretty static, would be nice to see them do more then just holding a place in game. Having a job. Maybe there's a host of new places you can work part time to earn decent bells for a change, like when we worked with brewster. Play a bigger role in festive events, assist and save the day for special item rewards. Compose your own music for your home music players. Vehicles you can use to move around the map a little quicker, some areas might have roads between areas to. Seats for up to 3 besties/ friends to jump in to. Ultimately I can think of a lot, but where are the limits between what a current gen game can provide outside of PC's? Either way, I hope residents return with more character and individuality and that we get more ways to interact with them, past lights out to as the game kind of dies off a lot when everyone goes to sleep. Having night owl residents and early birds could be fun to see so your never really alone to much. But I think I'll leave it there for now, got a lot written here already =)

i would want more nooks/ables/dodos/museum/isabelle interactions, or a schedule, maybe at twelve pm they would eat lunch, at eight pm every friday they would have a movie/game night, and if your island is placed in Europe (you can choose that when you meet the nooks an make your character) at four pm they would stop everything and drink a cup of tea

Mini games, able to use gym equipments, bike and scooters to drive around.

I wish we could get a game that is just a small side game of mini games, where you could play with/against people online or offline with villagers in place of people, Or also a possible co-op mode so you can play with your friends irl

I think fish and sea creatures should have different weight, that way weighter critters will sold higher (also adding more challenge in festival and multiplayer) easier villager selection. pet system (dogs, cattle, chicken) various mini games with villagers, not just random card game more personal / group events with villager (like picnic / play date, fishing or bug catching together) house style and room layout customization exploration mode to explore cave or ruins to get rare items fully 3D environment with easier island designer and terraforming options. I also wish you can add sky bridge to make your village become unique.

in the November direct there was still stuff coming out that we haven’t been seen yet and it still hasn’t happened. I think that they might not be as big as two point zero. I still believe we haven’t seen it all. The Sanrio Villagers weren’t counted as a big update, so I’m betting one crop, and crossovers being big this year. I hope they fix villager interactions..

I I have an idea. In city folk you start off in an town then you unlock but what if it’s the other way around? You start off in the city as the mayor or being Tom nooks assistant instead. Instead of starting off in a house you could start off in an apartment. Some of the already existing shops might be in the city such as nooks cranny, Gracie grace, shampoodle while you could find others in the town such as kicks and able sister’s. This is just thought. Also, along with the city life there could even be an expanded villager roster. This is kinda a lot to ask for so I don’t know if this is going to happen. Although, Nintendo does like surprising us so…

It would be cool if they made an adventure rpg type game. Where we team up with villagers to accomplish some goal or quest. I’d buy it.

I really want an option to share an island with someone, like you both are in charge of the town. Then you both can play whenever and see each other whenever. I know it'll need a constant internet connection and other problems, but that just seems like so much fun

I think that even if they don’t really do much more for large updates but they did at least add maybe a couple more features to the game just to polish it off before they decide that they’re completely done with it I wouldn’t mind it if they were at least balance the feng shui of the museum by adding some thing on the opposite side of the café, adding more food recipes that’s like more cultural cuisines, a quality of life update like adding where we can put rugs down, a villager island count increase to 15, and adding where you can add the buildings from the deal see like the school and the hospital and Stuff

it would be cute like if in the sims you can buy packs for acnh. maybe a city pack, where you can travel to a city, or have a farming pack, where there are new crops and items.

I really wanted the gems to come back, especially with Cyrus being added. I really do like the current version, but I wish there were more places to go like the ones you mentioned. I remember doing some ACNL dates and there was a lot more to do. Now it's more like just helping people with their islands, trading recipes, and showing off what you did, rather than having things to do together unless you build them.

I feel like if you could choose what habitat for your island it would be cool like in the DLC the rocks, the desert and stuff like that would be nice

the villagers have a ton of new dialogue to go with the update. I want more shops. I'd really like more than one island per Switch. If they stored the islands on the Switch SD card, or even with the game. You can have up to 4 islands, one per season. Back To The City would be nice.

I think it would be amazing of Nintendo created an Animal Crossing game similar to ACNH is the sense that you start off with almost nothing and move towards making it in to a beautiful town, however, imagine if in the next game, players started off with a small town and had to develop that small town in to a city. It would be the perfect way to bring back Club LOL and many of the other locations that were just missing in New Horizons.

I'd them to expand cooking with a grocery store and introduce a cute chipmunk special character (bc they hoard food in their fat lil cheeks) who works there. You could sell the produce you have on the island to them and maybe once you donate enough you get gifted special fruits like lychee or lemon.

Ok so I know this is crazy and unrealistic but I personally think a SPACE themed game would be really cool even just a space feature (I’m weird)

Actually I’m pretty sure the dev team said that there was no more MAJOR FREE updates. Meaning the game isn’t quite done, or so I believe. We can still pay for DLCs and there be small, less packed updates coming out in the future. I do love all your points though❤️❤️

I would love a city-focused Animal Crossing

Honestly, I'd appreciate it if there was a unique character story for every villager, even if it means cutting most of the characters. Does anyone ACTUALLY have Al on their island? Didn't think so.

I think ACNH is almost perfect in every sense but it lacks some features that could make it even better or the perfect game. A mini game island for solo or multiplayer like tortimer's island would have made perfect sense specially during the time it was launched. More task and interactions from the villagers like fetch task or catch this in season bug or fish for me, invite the island representative to their house at a certain time of the day or go to the representative's house at a set time. multiple item crafting would be nice too.

I hope they let us have more options for house upgrades. I would love a house thats just a 9x9 first and second floor with a big basement. Thats all I need. I love decorating 9x9 rooms. I would prefer to have the gamecube style game back. Just make it simple and give the villagers more personality but they cant put that genie back in the bottle, its a game about total control now. The addition of online sort of ruined a lot of collecting in the game if you can just go to a trade island. So mechanics like the monthly raffle just wouldn't be worth anything. And with NSO having NES games come back also makes little sense. But maybe do the puzzle league and similar titles again? I loved having a game inside my game.

I got a great idea! Animal Crossing City Folk for the nitendo switch with the quality of life stuff from New Horizons!

I mean, sure, MMOs have content, but XIV is a 10 year old game with an amazing story. The patches and expanion are par for course because its an MMO. Nintendo released an unfinished game and gave us "content updates" to cash out on our pandemic lockdowns.

I honestly would be all for a remake of the GCN game but QoL changes and being back in the Forest setting would be nice.

I honestly just want consequences back in the game...like shaking/gathering wood from trees to much they will decay...not watering flowers etc.
