Kratos wouldn't win against Heimdall without Draupnir. Kratos took quite a while to hit Heimdall even after stunning him and confusing his senses 2 times in a row. Now imagine without being stunned. Even if Kratos manages to hit Heimdall once, he would need to do that feat multiple times before even remotely having the chance to kill him. Kratos can't win without the spear, and if you think I'm wrong, try to hit heimdall without using the spear. you'll see it's literally impossible

Well actually if kratos didn’t have the spear than Heimdall would have most definitely beat him. He even stated himself that the spear was his best chance, even in the game no matter Wht u used against him it would be impossible to hit him.

I always saw that whole fight this way. either kratos just hit on instinct and didnt think about it so heimdall couldnt know what comes next, or heimdall knew that spears would go off but he wouldnt know where they were

Honestly, the spear mainly helped Kratos close in at first. Everything else was just Kratos > Heimdall. -Kratos had the BIQ to pick up on Heimdall's block and punish him for it -Heimdall stopped dodging attacks once he did get hit, which pretty much negates his one advantage over Kratos -Heimdall cried like a pussy when he got poked in the arm Kratos still wins Mid-Diff

Problem is he wouldn’t be able to touch him without the spear, obviously Kratos is superior in almost every other way, which is why when Draupnir takes away Heimdall’s one advantage (even if it is a huge advantage), Heimdall can’t really do much and gets really emotional and angry. But still, without the spear overwhelming Heimdall’s senses, he just can’t be touched by an enemy like Kratos

I love kratos, but this is simple, if Odin had gone home with Heimdall instead of Thor, the game would end there. Not only because he really needs the spear, but also it wouldn't do any damage to the bifrost shield that heimdall can do, basically without the spear you don't beat him, and if in doubt try to hit him in his fight with all your weapons, unless that you bug it as it was my case, not even the spartan rage can do something.

The Norse gow games have less tension in it (story wise) because they establish that the greek pantheon is stronger and it shows because the moment Kratos gets slightly agitated he destroys everyone in a fight feeling more mentally drained then actual fatigue.
