I’ve seen so many Hi REN reaction videos...what makes me like this one is the way your mouth was full open speechless during the performance.

Here is some additional information on Ren's story, in case you didn't already know. I gathered it from an old newspaper interview and Ren's livestreams and posts where he discussed his condition. Ren Eryn Gill is a British musician; born in Wales in 1990 or ‘91 (depending on which source you cite), he grew up in Brighton. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, he began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue and subsequently dropped by Sony. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which lead him to experience psychosis. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023). Ren's Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder, which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals, as well as his bones/joints. Ren stated: "It's a lot to wrap my head around having to be away from friends, family, and a successful career, and almost feels like a total juxtaposition to the fact that my music is blowing up right now and spreading to all corners of the world, but that's life, we take the good with the bad." Let's keep supporting Ren and not pull a "Sony" on him as he undergoes his treatment. Great reaction. “Hi Ren" is the song that put Ren on everyone's radar since December; it went viral and has garnered more than 5 million views since its debut, but he has been creating great music for more than ten years. Ren’s music videos are generally recorded live, often in a single take, although not necessarily the first take, and from various camera angles. His release, "Sick Boi," is almost another chapter to "Hi Ren." Many of his songs resonate with people because he addresses struggles that many others face every day. Ren plays multiple instruments (acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, drums), has impressive vocals, is an excellent storyteller, and is quite the philosopher and poet. Great job! You are 100% right- this is more than music. It definitely is art. I used to laugh at people that could look at a painting and talk about how it "moves them". After this, I get it.

'Hopeful Ren' is the sail on a boat. 'Cynical Ren' is the rudder. The sail says "Leave me alone, for I follow the Wind!" The rudder says "Listen to me, for I set the Course!". 'Ren who stands' is the Pilot who has mastered both sail and rudder. Such a man travels the World.

I was wondering when you would get to this one! Similarly, I saw it come up a bunch over the last few weeks and finally watched, and I have been obsessively watching and listening since. This is another rabbit hole for you to go down. Ren has struggled with a lot in his life but my goodness is he talented and deserves all the recognition he is getting. When I first saw this a few weeks ago, I cried like a baby. This is an incredible message and you are right, we can all learn something and apply it to our lives. I've listened to this almost daily and I still get goosebumps. His catalog of music is incredible and he's really diverse. It's definitely worth a dive into. I only wish I knew who Ren was a very long time ago. He is truly amazing. It's cool to see so many find this incredible piece of work and pretty much all that do are blown away. My favorite part of watching reactions to “hi ren” is watching the wtf yodeling moment at the beginning turn into the this is the best song ever yodeling moment at the end.

Good to see a sincere reaction like this that recognizes that what they are watching is more important than pausing to insert your two cents. When I see a reaction that pauses during the crescendo of the last verse, I assume they don't really care about the music all that much as they pretend to.
