What up DreamSquad! We are here for another first time hearing reaction!!! This was suggested by the DreamSquad and Mama Nezra on multiple platforms so I had to react to it. It was tears for me. I felt them building when they started singing face to face. The intimacy and vulnerability, combined with the lyrics, opened something up in me. When she stood up at the end and belted I burst into tears. It was quite unexpected. I don’t know how to explain it, but Hi Ren and this song opened my very soul. I haven’t been the same since. Amazing what the power of music (+vulnerability and authenticity) can do

This song has a really weird unusual harmony which sort of grates. Chinchilla can make a nightingale sound like a crow in comparison to her, as demonstrated in their cover of sexual healing, how to be me etc.. But in grates in a way that kind of pulls you in, it’s very strange.

Have to admit, I was a little taken aback at first by the use of the term “grate,” as I am absolutely stunned by her voice, but I think I understand what you are getting at. I don’t know you, but when I listen to this song, I hear a lot of pain, especially in Chinchilla’s voice, and particularly in her vibrato. That pain pierces deep. The first time I watched it, I had tears running down my face by the end. But that kind of pain can make us very uncomfortable too, especially if we aren’t prepared for it, hence the grating (maybe?).

r.e. the camera, I'm fairly sure a lot of Ren's videos are either shot on an inexpensive cinema rig, or a high quality mirrorless shot in a Log format...it always looks crisp and clean. Probably manual focus lenses.

I just found your channel and I'm really enjoying your reactions (subscribed after watching Tale of Jenny and Screech). It's obvious your reactions are genuine and you're able to breakdown the music, the feels and relate to it personally. I just subscribed after watching the Tales of Jenny and Screech and I'm loving your Ren reactions. When you come up for a breath out of the Ren rabbit hole, I recommend an equally surprising one, Falling in Reverse. Zombified, Popular Monster, and their early trilogy-Losing My Mind, Losing My Life, and Drugs, in that order, are good songs to start with. Ronnie Radke the lead singer, has redone some of his early emo(ish) songs and I highly recommend I'm Not a Vampire and then I'm Not a Vampire (Revamped) in the same reaction. Mind blowing.
