KRS-ONE has lectured at over 500 universities and colleges in the States. He is a critically acclaimed and outspoken rapper, intellectual, and activist. He passionately speaks about industry politics, respect, and the linguistics of hip-hop. In a time when hip-hop's culture, art, beauty, and depth seem to have been trampled on by a desperate and impoverished generation, Parker firmly stands as the preservation of hip-hop itself.

all the critics talk this and that hating on this man because of his support for bambata's hiphop legacy, it's bambatas issue that has nothing to do with krs, he doesn't walk around trying to educate ppl about rape and pedophilia allegations. that's not his expertise, he's a rap legend and scholar of life on a journey to know truth and wisdom. people just love to hate

9:20 This is interesting. He says we should know who writes a book so we can know the content based on the author. Which seems to be saying that an authors biases can creep into their interpretation and presentation of the information. But then he also says that we may not even read a book if it was authored by George Bush or Hitler, implying that now our biases may prevent us from honestly examining the book in question. I am trying to find a coherent point in this line of argument. Put another way: A reader should know the identity of who the authored a book. Knowing the identity of the author informs the reader of potential biases the author may have. Once a reader knows the identity of the author also reveals biases the reader may have based solely upon the authors identity. I somewhat agree with these oversimplified statements; however, there is no conclusion to these arguments. They seem to be potentially true statements but they are wrapped in a confusing arguments. I am curious what others think. Am I missing something? Please let me know.

S RDVizions Maybe then they should rely on producing more and better content to actually generate revenue instead of withholding what they alrady have. tbh that strategy not only makes no sense but it will certainly fail. unless a user watches the video throughout the entire length a second time it won't count as a view. and even if they tried to artificially inflate the view numbers (which seems like what the channel wants), the view algorithm would not allow it. that strategy literally makes no sense.

I’m sorry but KRS1 was not allowed to lecture at Oxford University because the Dean realized it was him and cancelled the lecture yet they allowed the insignificant and disrespectful Bhad Bhabie Danielle whatever the hell her name is to “drop some wisdom” to Oxford students!?! 2:00 how does someone even come up with this logic? Yeah, how people perceive you is relative to your environment, but being asian or african or mediterranean isn't a social construct. You don't go from one city to the other and change from asian to northern european randomly. This logic is such nonsense that you can't be dumb enough to come up with it, the only reason you do is cause it's necessary to prove something false, aka that race is a social construct, which you want to be true even if you know it isn't. How do you completely cancel out the genetic aspect when clearly the situation you presented is an equation with genetics and culture as variables? James Downing I could not agree more. I am surprised that Any college allows him to speak at it. He is not an intellectual or even somewhat educated as far as I can tell. He just makes stuff up as he goes along. If you listen to him you will end up confused rather than informed.

At 9:20 he says, “ if you don’t know the history of the author you really don’t know what you are reading.” That is silly. I can read a math book and it is inconsequential to me who the author is. I can still learn math. That was about two minutes into his incoherent rambling.
