Documentary mainly involving sable antelopes, a relatively rare species, not frequently seen in this park. They were filmed throughout one morning during a dryness period at the waterhole of Talamati (in the middle of the park), in the presence of many other animals. The antelope males were fighting and one of them was stuck in the mud. Accordingly, there was unity of time, place and action in this film.
20 further films on Kruger Park (by the same author) are available using this link: / @charlespierrot156
Visit in car, alone, of Kruger National Park for one month almost every year since 1999. A series of 21 movies on this Park by the same author is available in KZfaq : SEASONS 1 (in English and 1Bis in French) and 13 and 16 (in English) are 3 different documentaries ("Mating Lions 1, 2 & 3") comprising full stories of several mating lions followed for several days in a row, which is exceptional; SEASONS 2 (French) and 2Bis (English) are on nesting saddle-billed storks. SEASONS 3 to 12 are 'Road Movies' (most in French, 10Bis in English), with a lot of successive African adventures lived in this huge Park between 2017 and 2021; SEASONS 3 and 12 include full English subtitles; SEASON 14 (in English) shows "Some Dramatic Events" involving different types of animals, with spectacular scenes; SEASON 15 (in English) shows “Fighting Sable Antelopes”, filmed for an entire morning; lastly, SEASON 17 (English) is on Elephants, which are not always peaceful, and SEASON 18 (English) on Crocodiles and Birds fighting over Fish.
Note that all these films have been conceived to be watched on a large horizontal computer (or TV) screen.
Other movies will come soon ...

Fantastic sighting of sable antelopes! I've been to Kruger many times and seen them a few times, but not as well as this. Truly extraordinary. I hope they all made it through the dry season... it's sad to watch thirsty animals. :(

I love this type of documentaries A group of animals of different species living in peace in the same place Two species of antelope, baboons, zebras, wild boars, wildebeests , African buffalo and elephants What a great video💜🐘🐂🐐🦌🦓🐗🦬

Sable, which, in my opinion, are one of the most majestic and beautiful of antelope, are so seldom filmed and recorded. Zebra, which are glorious creatures, don't get me wrong, are filmed over and over again birthing, eating, running, escaping and being predated. We've filmed the Wildebeest migration for endless hours of documented video over the years. There is so little video of the whole natural life history of the incredible Sable.

You're damn right. There's no much research about this majestic creature.

The thing is that zebras are much much more numerous, like wildebeest, so it's a lot easier to stumble into any predatory scene involving them. Zebras and wildebeest also prefer the open plain, and are easier to spot by safari crews when something is going on. All these other antelope are more secretive and prefer the thick bush, making them more difficult to spot, and even harder to follow when something goes on with them..

Thanks for sharing this! Really interesting to see different species gathering and interacting: - When the elephant was startled by the buffalo in the mud - When the buffalo bull was unfazed at all when the elephant tried to intimidate it - Interesting sable dominance behaviour play out - from the ritual displays at the start up till submissive behaviour from the older bull - The Greater Kudu stepping into the scene and it was so clean at the start lol! - The sables were so majestic when they were at full gallop Looking forward to your videos!

The Kudu are often prey and victims of the lions, the male Sable Antelopes however, are seldom targets as they are so incredible aggressive.
