i LOVE how she recognized the judges at the beginning....so much style

It’s strange to think that team only had this young lady as a strong bar worker and was really weak overall on bars when in the past they were very powerful on the event. Just four years later it was their best. I was actually surprised she didn’t try for London until I heard about her bad knee injury. Such a shame as she would have had a definite shot to go back.

It's amazing that the end of 2007 to the end of 2008 I think the biggest mistake she made was adding an extra giant to her routine. So consistent. (Probably spelled that wrong.

That's a great routine. The only thing really wrong was that first combination. She really missed that full turn after the release move. All her other handstands were well done.

how come when elfi mentioned she upgraded to be more competitive she only mentioned liukin, not kexin, tweddle, and yilin who are also challenges to the bar title stupid nationalism

@KVHolland3 You would bet wrong then since even if all the Russians hit, they still couldn't catch USA in team scores.

@rgtzgmnst I mean wasn't Porgras's vault a yurchenko full (I'm probably wrong). Sure Nistor had horrifying form but it was a double twisting yurchenko and definatley better then Nabieva and maybe even Mustafina in the form department. Her bars was better although you can't compare old to new code bars. She was strong on beam and good in new code on floor. I think Drogoi unfortunatley had almost as terrible puberty as Semenova and is just starting to recover, and Izbasa is the best Romanian.

@rgtzgmnst And at least if you watched the Olympic Trials and stuff. The United States definatley thought Johnson for gold in 2008. I had no clue who Liukin was untill the Olympic qualifications because the media had neglected her in the USA. (I was not into gymnastics by this time).

@markedexclusive At least in Qual. But Vault would've been USA, US in bars but only by like a half a point or so, in beam IF the Russians hit they probably would've beaten USA and If Russia could've hit floor I'd say they could've beat USA on that too. It would've at least been close.

@rgtzgmnst I mean it's just not fair. I know they can hit routines, but really somebody could go up their and do a def, fall, and oh well, not important. I mean I hated that NBC was already telling the viewers that there was no way, know how Semenova and Koval could win throughout the EF routines. I mean at least act like you aren't biased. Execution was definatley not rewarded in this Olympics.

@rgtzgmnst Ana Porgras is like a overrated glimir of hope for romania. She's graceful, but she lacks difficulty in every event practically but beam. People love Chelaru's floor routine, well i hate it (music sucks).

@rgtzgmnst I hated the UB medalist on bars for 2008. 1. Because Liukin and Kexin should not have been in the EF to begin with, I hate that you can still get in with a fall. 2. I dislike Tweddle but she had the best of the top 4 not including morality. 3. Yilin and Liukin's piroutette madness is just boring...I prefer releases, and they don't have to be in combination (Semenova, Koval, Nistor). I would've like to see Semenova, Koval (she had a great routine) and Tweddle, Nistor's lacked D.
