I don’t even watch their online news anymore, its a small step that i can contribute to this. I originally came to ktla from fox after their morning hosts were let go, now moving from ktla to no news for now because its just plain horrible out there in the world.

All my sisters, brothers, and friends always watched the weekend show with Mark and Lynette Romero. We all follow them on their social media, and we will always follow them wherever they go next. It was the best entertaining weekend news with them. Shame on KTLA for treating their workers who worked very hard every weekend to bring their ratings up the way Lynette and Mark did. That tells you that this company treats its employees just like a replaceable numbers. KTLA is done for all of us. They don't deserve our ratings as they deserve our respect as their true colors came out of how they don't know how to recognize their employee's sacrifice. These people sacrificed their family time and their weekends to come to work to inform our communities.

That was an odd move by the station because it seemed like segment was planned because there was footage of her as he was explaining the situation and the other anchors chimed in and also said positive things about her. Maybe he went off script and got to the truth of the situation but it's not like he said anything inappropriate or single out any individual to blame. Basically, they're only risking angering viewers by firing him just for sticking up for a friend.

In any case, Lynette is good and will be starting on NBC 4 weekday early mornings in a couple of weeks and I'm sure Mark will be fine.

Hal Fishman and Stan Chambers set very high standards for excellence in TV journalism not just at KTLA, but for all of L.A. The station’s management pissed on those standards with their dismissals of Lynette Romero and Mark Mester.

Key West in Spanish was formalized as Cayo Hueso which sounds like West but actually means Bone! Even now when I refer to this I too say Hueso. If I said oeste which means West they would not know what I am talking about!

With the friendship, and I imagine on-air chemistry, that these two anchors share, I would hope there is a future for them to work together again. I salute him for standing up for his friend. I salute her for what was clearly dignity in the face of a news station that seems to lack it.

Friendship is fine but job security is better.. Mark went off script then refused to meet with management after his on screen tirade so they had no choice but to fire him.. maybe Lynette will pay his bills for and help with his bank account, I mean that's what friendship is as you explained it.

With that said, it is laughable for you, me, or anyone else to "explain" to another what friendship is beyond the most basic definition of such. Going with that most basic definition then, yes, he does come across as a good friend. I have put things on the line to stand up for people and it has always worked out in my favor as I am confident it will work out in theirs particularly since they were excellent enough in their career to reach the point that they have. If you have not stood up for anything or anyone out of fear, well, that is a personal choice. A significant part of the success I've found, in career and in life, has been tied to (a) Being great at what I do, and (b) Standing up for what I believe is right even in the face of adversity.

They're the only reason why I watch their weekend morning show. I thought after Chris the show won't be the same again but thanks to Mark, he was perfect! After Liberty, it's Dana, and now Lynette, then Mark fired for being real. There's no reason to watch the weekend show anymore, it won't be the same without them. It's time to move to another station.

KTLA INSIDER: He actually got fired because of a huge fight with the producers. After the show they wanted him to come into a meeting. He refused and left. So they sent him a text saying he was suspended for refusing the meeting. He got the text when he was in the parking lot. He turned back around, went inside and they all had a huge fight. And THAT is why they fired him. So the media is not getting the whole story. But still not handled well at all. They should have let him cool off.....

You have a good point that they should have given him time. Telling him to “come in for a meeting” immediately after he said his heartfelt goodbyes to his best friend was NOT going to go well, as the company was most likely calling him in for punishment anyway. Someone at the higher up’s didn’t like that he did this without “their approval” and this was going to be an assertive show of dominance. I don’t know what else he could have done, since they most likely wouldn’t have allowed him to give her the goodbye she deserved had he actually “asked”.

KTLA owed Lynette a proper sendoff, I agree. After 20 years of service it seems only fitting. Kudos to Mark for standing up for her, but the manner in which he did it... well it's not surprising he was let go. He basically forced his employer's hand with the strong public shaming.

I applaud him for sticking up for his friend. They were a fun Duo and the shows flavor and humor has definitely suffered after their departure. They have mentioned my family and I several times on their segment ' Talk To Us '. I haven't felt this bad since the passing of Chris Burrous. Good luck to you both, Lynette and Mark. 😞

He did not get fired for being honest. He got fired for using the station unapproved resources in a tirade against ktla. Someone that was there that day witnessed him walking out to the parking lot, they convinced him to come back which he did in a rage. That was the final straw. He offers a mild tribute to Lynnette but that is forgotten from the anger he displayed. Stations country wide are learning about this, their interpretation will not be his honesty but his hot temper. Was his tirade worth it? Yes Ktla will lose some viewers of the sleepy Saturday morning show, mark will have to convince other stations that his anger is in control

He deserved to be fired. You can't rant against your own station like that on air and keep your job. The only way to interpret it is he decided it was worth it, because if he thought they would keep him after that, he's delusional.

LOOK PEOPLE, NOT THAT I'M HATING BUT 5 HOURS OF NEWS ON SATURDAYS IS TOO MANY HOURS! THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TALK ABOUT, THEY SHOW PICTURES OF OTHER PEOPLE ON VACATION, ETC. THEY SHOULD HAVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS LIKE SCIENCE, HISTORY FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T HAVE CABLE T.V.
