After sitting for who knows how long, the Raider is refreshed and ready to sling some dirt once again!
A huge thank you to Bob ‪@UncleBobsRC‬ for the bumper and front end; you’re a saint!

Hey Jeremy, you did a wonderful job on the Kyosho Raider, a little upgrade is a good thing, the newer electronics are a blessing. Great that Uncle Bob was able to help you with the front bumper and front end. Hope you get it out and enjoy it.

Thanks Brent! I’m nostalgic for stuff from my childhood just not mechanical speed controls!🤣 We’ve had nice weather during the week but weekends here have been real crappy. Hopefully the weather there cooperates so you can get to those parks!👊😊✌️

Great work Jeremy. Look at that lovely Le Mans Motor! Glad my gearbox video was helpful. You need to get a way of securing the battery pack otherwise it will slide right out from under the body shell. You have to run this in the summer series! Just for the beautiful gearbox sound 😎

I appreciate all the tips in your videos on this beauty! I’ve got some Velcro straps I think might work to hold the battery. I’m sure it’ll get a go in the series! Many thanks Craig!👊😊✌️

Glad it is all up and running. Bob is a great guy and is always quick to offer up help if he can! I am glad he was able to hook you up with the new bumper, it looks so much much better now! For the windows, you can make templates for the sticker by cover the the windows with blue painters tape and pressing it into the corners firmly, then trace around the window openings with a pen. Once you have the template then you can pick up a sheet of black vinyl from the craft store, stick your templates on there and cut them out to fit. You can put the vinyl right over the window and cut it out with a hobby knife but those thin older bodies I prefer to not cut anything on them as they are usually pretty thin to avoid making weak spots. Have fun with it and I really hope the weather cooperates with you and can get out and run it!

@@HaydadRC you will enjoy it and they are pretty tough buggies. The plastics they used are really durable it seems!

Happy to help, I'm just glad someone wanted those old parts.... It sure does make the Raider look 100% better... Yes, old Kyosho plastics seem to hold up much better than Tamiya plastics but I think that's because Tamiya is a model maker first then an RC company, They did change the plastics a few times and now being made outside of Japan may or may not help the plastics longevity, only time will tell.

Excellent point about Tamiya Bob; I never thought about that! Despite being old, this buggy seems to have much life left! Thanks again so much Bob!👊😊✌️

This really brings back memories. I got a Raider ARR for Christmas one year. I had lost interest in the hobby by then (maybe 12 or13 years old), and it sat untouched in its box for many years. I finally ran it (probably 20 years later, lol) and broke the plastic driveshaft on the first battery. Now I'm thinking I should try to find some metal driveshafts off eBay or Amazon that might fit. 🤔 Can't wait to see yours in action, and I hope you have better luck with the driveshafts than I did! 👊🏼👊🏼

Thanks Mike! This one was never on my radar as a kid but watching videos of it the last couple years, I had to get one! I still need to run it. I’d love to see yours get patched up and running! When you got yours as a kid; was it a kit or rtr? I appreciate you checking it out my friend; have a great Sunday!👊😊✌️

Mine was the ARR or "almost ready to run" version. If I remember correctly, it was about 75% assembled and without radio gear or electronics. I really wanted a Hornet, Frog, or Javelin back in those days. I think a heads up shootout between a Raider and Hornet with identical electronics would be super interesting.

@redbeardrc1452 thanks for the reply Mike! I was wondering if I should place it in the kit or rtr division…..just seems it “fits” into the kit division.🤔
