IITs were made to serve India to become a technological leader. Look at what has become of it. Instead of worrying that our research organizations (ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, etc.) aren't getting enough talents , we are celebrating CEOs of foreign MNCs who will inevitably prove to be the modern East India Company. We Indians were accomplishes in colonializing India and people who do not study and remember and appreciate their history are bound to repeat mistakes. Look at the IIT director, such corrupt and ignorant people running the India's so called top institutions. IITs are a failure. Watch the research papers produced per country, AI papers per country, International Maths, Physics and Chemistry Olympiads - No where are Indians close to the competitior - China which as led the competitions and scoring Golds since 25 years. IITJEE and GATE and other such competitive exams in India are a facade that hide the poor state of education. Only the people who can afford expensive coaching get the advantage. India is no where close to world class research except a handful club of wealthy and funded institutions like the 5 IITs. They suck all the resources which could have gone to raise the standards of other institutions and then finally they just serve foreign MNCs instead of India.

Smriti Irani defeated Pappu in Amethi. But for sure, if Amethi does not see real, visible development and meaningful difference, Pappu will win next time.
