i am subscribed but am fairly new to yalls channel. after watching, i have nicknamed the little lady "catherine the great" ! she is a real busy bee and should get mileage pay as well as her salary. i am thankful to find a channel to follow that is free of profanity and one my whole family can watch. thank yall............g

Хорошая работа. Когда будете пожилыми то будете с любовью вспоминать строительство дома. Мои родственики также строили дом сами в конектикуте (стемфорт) в 1920 году так ом до сиг пор стоит . конечно дети делали ремонты одноко с большой теплотой свпоминают родителей. Также и ваше будущее поколение будет вас любить и вспоминать. Удачи смотрю с удовольствием.

Thanks Donnie. I am happy to report that the basement is completely dry. The waterproofing, delta membrane, weeping tile, and gravel are all doing their jobs! Thanks for watching!

For your all weather porch why not use composite decking

Thanks for the suggestion Jamie! That is one such material we are considering although most are typically installed with a gap. I can see dirt/dust sitting in those spaces making it difficult to clean. Maybe there are ones that get installed tight together to avoid those gaps?? Thanks for watching!

Are you rolling the zip panels?

Yes, the ZIP tape is pressure activated and therefore you need to roll the tape when applied. They have special rollers that emboss little “Z” in the tape so you know it has been done. Thanks for watching!

Aren't you afraid water goes under those ZIP boards on the porch and start wetting the 2 by 6 of that wall

We did leave the ZIP sheathing up about a 1/4” from the plywood subfloor for airflow. Not much else you can do when building walls that are exposed to the elements. Thanks for watching!

Why are you using 2 x 6's on interior walls? waste of space,, 2 x 4's would be heavy enough

All of the walls that we have built so far were exterior 2x6 walls with ZIP sheathing. The only interior wall we built was to separate the kitchen from the front door and that is required to support the load of the trusses that will sit on top of this wall. Thanks for watching!
