The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

"Don't Tell Mama" comes from the musical, "Cabaret".

I think Lana sang "live", not lip-sync. Her boa concealed the mic and transmitter. There are no discrepancies during her singing and talking , and there is a sound drop off when she turned her back briefly after dancing to return to the piano which was common with the early portable mics.

She was on TV all the time in the early 70's. Gave up the singing to become a lawyer in NY. Unique look and style.

Wow, I bet that really up family night! She is great for that Broadway show style, like Julie Andrews. Yeah, you can tell my brother, my uncle, and my grandmother, but please!

Nice. Where's more Connie Francis??? It's been way too long. Her birthday is the same as Frank Sinatra's day. I didn't notice a Happy Birthday put up for her in December. She was Ed Sullivan's favorite. He and his wife so he would have put it up if he was alive. Rip 🌹

Here's an example of lip-synching. You can tell because of the extra reverb in the voice, and slight discrepancies.

No. Take a look at her other appearances in the show and you'll see and hear that the sound is absolutely consistent with the live sound stage of the show from years '68-'69 .

She makes several mistakes towards the beginning: she started too early before the music at 1:25,, she screwed the lyric at 1:35. My point is not to criticize the performance but , these things would not exist during a lip sync.
