Follow our arrival at the busiest airshow in the world. We flew the Fisk Approach and had some close encounters with other traffic in the area. After landing we enjoyed a few days at the show before heading home.

Well, since you didn't get one from the controller: "Welcome to Oshkosh!"

Enjoyed the Oshkosh video, I've watched quite a few arrivals the last few years hoping to learn before I try it. My buddy and I just bought a 1966 150 and plan to fly to Aventure 2021 from South Carolina. Our useful load is only 533 lbs so, with full fuel, me at 190 lbs, my buddy at 150 lbs, that only leaves us with about 30 lbs of baggage. It's going to be a stretch ! What camera and audio device did you use ? Bob

Do they have people on the ground miles out directing traffic?? Seems like there are several stages of approach or something.
@markthompson48854 жыл бұрын
yes there are controllers on the ground at Fisk watching. thats where they have to rock there wings.
@MrAlwaysBlue5 жыл бұрын
The controllers are brilliant.

These guys sure do talk a lot while on the FISK arrival, when we went up in 2016 and in 2018 the guy in the left seat made it abundantly clear that once we got to FISK we were supposed to shut the hell up and only call out traffic.

And what color is yours? lol
@ik045 жыл бұрын
Cessna called it Antigua Gold and Cocoa. Everyone else called it Baby Shit Yellow and Brown.

because at certain locations, you know the transmission is not for you but for someone a few miles ahead.
