I visited Manhattan Chinatown as well as Flushing Chinatown in Queens, and it was AMAZING. It felt like being back in China. How did Chinese people respond to hearing a white guy speaking Mandarin? Yeah I was at both Manhattan and Flushing Chinatown recently--both places are MUST-GO'S. Highly recommend to stop by if you're in either NYC or Queens.

在中國人或者華人的世界里只有兩種人，中國人和外國人。叫老外不會因為地點而影響。也不會因國籍改變，比如一個大馬華人，一個新家坡華裔，一個美國華人在一起的話，還有一個歐美人，那麼那個歐美人肯定會被稱老外。

Really appreciate both subtitles, helps me pick out Chinese words I missed. My listening comprehension sucks as I haven't found many resources to practice it, and because of that, I can't understand a ton of what they're saying without them. The subtitles tell me it's a super basic sentence I know so naturally when reading and writing, but with the strong accents and speed, I just couldn't get it without the subs. I felt so stupid not being able to do it without subtitles, it's a bit frustrating when I have been studying daily for over 2 years Any tips you can give to someone who has been self taught for a while? I don't have a ton of time to watch TV shows, but I am open to give anything a go. I figured listening to a podcast I can barely understand wouldn't be very motivating, despite being convenient and travel friendly
