WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

My 3 children and I were live aboards in SWFL (FM area) for several years while going through a divorce and they were in elementary school. It was so fun and immersive, and walking down the dock to our 2-story barge boat, passing otters and crabs, we left the unpleasantness of land-life behind. It was wonderful and impossible to be depressed for all of nature all around us. I love your videos as they remind us of a special time in our lives. I'm excited to learn about your next boat (hopefully a cat) and future travels. Thank you for your excellent film work and for letting us be a part of it.

I'm so happy for you guys. With the level of care in which you treated and maintained Curiosity the new owners will be sailing one of the nicest of the type out there. And for that effort you deserve the best of luck on the new boat and I'm so looking forward to seeing your new home. You traveled, locked down and were stranded during the worst of the pandemic and of all places to catch covid you did it in New Zealand thats epic. I'm glad your feeling better Thanks for taking us along.

What an amazing adventure on your 1st boat. It's been a blast living vicariously through you guys as you travel the world, meet all sorts of amazing people, and exploring places most of us will never get to see. Thanks for allowing us to be a part of it all. Can't wait to see the new boat and what adventures lie ahead.

It is so interesting watching the two of you work and live together. There seems to be a natural flow back and forth as you share the work and do things together. I’m sure it’s probably not always smooth but It looks like all that time together has built a strong partnership.

It's good to see that you are both recovering from C-19 and can navigate around the marina. Congratulations on selling your boat and on moving forward with your plans for a new home. We aren't moving as fast as you are and even though the home sold on May 16th, we still haven't been able to leave the area due to weather and medical appointments impacting our timeline to get the storage units reduced from six to 3 or 4 at the most. Once that's done, we will be hitting the road in our Fifth Wheel for a National Park tour over the next couple of years. Take care and get well and I can't wait to see what your next boat looks like.

I just wanted to take a few minutes to encourage you not to leave anything behind. I sincerely hope that everything you shared together stays with you. It may be a mug or a towel. If your love was shared toward each other with whatever possession you shared just save it. Packing is always prioritizing what you want and don't want to carry with you. I love you two and I hope that you don't throw away a memory you can both cherish together or apart from each other. I am happy you are not suffering to much with carona sars 2 . Your adventures are a treasure with lots of respect and you two are a real joy . Please take care of yourselves for us dreamers who love you and cherish you. God Bless you always and thank you !

Seeing the size of the marina reminds me of the fact that Monaco is so small that you can literally see the marina (Port Hercule) within the shape of the country. But NZ's yachting heritage is just as impressive as Monaco's! And although it's sad this is the last Curiosity boat project, it's always nice to start things fresh. For another chapter is around the corner. While you may have gotten it, the fact it took two years for it to get to you says a lot about what you've been doing. Meanwhile I live in a densely populated area like Long Island and I'm thankful that I still haven't gotten it. I'm a bit antisocial because I'm autistic so I didn't have to change much when the pandemic came around.

Travel tip. Use vacuum space saving bags for your clothes. They are plastic bags you place the your clothes in and use a vacuum to suck the air out of the bag. You'll save a lot of space and will weather proof your clothes too.

I'd have a hard time leaving behind the electric bikes, as well as the scuba gear... along with I don't even know how much other stuff. Honestly I'd think about renting a storage unit in New Zealand, then sail back in 6 months to pick up all your stuff in your new boat.

Can totally relate to trying to condense your life into a few suitcases. When my husband and I moved from the Carribean to the west coast of Canada, we went from having an apartment full of stuff down to 2 suitcases each. It's tough, but in the end we mainly kept the things that meant the most to us. Looking forward to seeing the new boat!

Jason, I once was fishing and had a Mink find us and try to steal our catch. He was getting rambunctious and we didn't want to antagonize him too much and maybe get bitten... after all it was his river and we were taking his fish. Anyway... we decided to filet the ones we caught and give him the carcasses, and when he got the first one.. He dragged it into the shore grass about 5 m away, and started barking... and we looked at each other..." we're getting more company". Sure enough two minutes later a smaller one (we figured the female) shows up.... he's dragging his fish through the grass making all kinds of ruckus, while she just took hers and jumped into the water... floated downstream with the current... and was back right away. By the time he came back for the second one... she was back for her third piece. I distinctly remember saying to myself... "Yup, you got yourself a smart girl there buddy..." Watching this episode with the "threading of the line"... I said it to myself again... as I've done every once in a while watching you two for the last few years. "Yup, you've got yourself a smart girl there buddy..." Hope all things work out with the new boat and can't wait to see it.

Jason and Nikki, it's difficult to explain how much joy you bring to my life. I could say a hundred nice things but I would just be repeating what others have already said. So to let you know what you mean to me, I'll let you know that there are two things I wish for. One is being with Christ when my time here is over. The other would having your attitude. Everything else would be gravy. Even having my own boat doesn't even come close to the smile you put on my face just watching to two of you. I'll close with that thought. See ya down the road. Wow!! Last boat chore on Curiosity... Must feel so good to have completed that LONG list of tasks and in that completed your commitment to take care of Curiosity because she has taken care of you for the last 6 years. We applaud you and all your incredible adventures with Curiosity and toast to all the many new incredible experiences and adventures you will have with your new home on the water!

So glad y'all are beginning to feel better. It took me the better part of a whole month to begin to feel better but I tested positive for 2 months and they still can't explain why. Just happy you two are beginning to feel better. Looking forward to seeing your new home and where y'all head to next. Happy sailing y'all

So glad you both enjoyed your time at Gulf Harbour Marina... I was fortunate to have been a part of the construction crew in the late 1980 (1987-1989). As one of the Electrical Leading-Hands, wired all the Onland and Onwater Electrical Services... Your fabulous Videos have certainly featured and shown what a great Marina Gulf Harbour still is after more than 30 years - Thank you.

Hi wonderful couple, if I’ve learned anything watching your videos, it’s the skill level and work ethic needed for ocean sailing is far far above anything I could ever achieve ❤️

Glad to hear y'all are ok, I've had covid. I'll never be the same (63 years old is not the right age to contract nasty diseases). My girls mother had it and did not survive. Good luck on the sale.

I have been lucky enough to be one of the 511K subscribers vicariously following you both from your last couple of RV years. I am sure your wonderful wacky shared curiosity will ensure we 'vicars' will be blessed with many more curious cruises to come. Thank you so much for the journey so far and the journeys to come👏👏👏 I hope you have enjoyed your time in our country, and will so do until you leave. What a shame you have not made it to Wellington where the really 'good days' are (keep that to yourself though and don't tell the Jaffas as they might move down here!😄) Seriously though thank you both for letting us all into your Curiosity. 🙏🤗
