WHO ARE WE?
We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We have been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years.
Our first six years of travel were an epic road trip around North America. Now we’re on a sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild adventures, and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

I think it's good to give viewers a peek at the amount of work that goes into your weekly episodes. This is only the post-production, Folks. I can't imagine how much thought and planning goes into preproduction. And then there is the execution of the plan! Those of us who work in production know. Thank you for all that you share with us. You tell great stories.

And now I know why your videos look so great and very professional when my wife and I watch every Sunday. I have been watching since the RV days which convinced us to sell everything and live full time in a Class A RV. When you switched to sailing and neither one of you had any experience in sailing I thought you were crazy but it took a lot of guts and determination in setting a path and executing the plan. We are inspired every week with the topics you share and the experiences you go through. I know when we run into difficulties I just think back on one of your episodes where things went sideways and how you kept your focus and resolved the problem. Great job as always. Just remember to have fun and love each other.

Delos and Uma have done similar episodes, and yeah, these sailing channels are putting in every bit of 40+ hours of effort per week, for a 20-25 minute video. So yeah, their views/patreons/subscribers etc... do enable the lifestyle. But to get the views necessary, it's a full time job equivalent of effort. These folks are lounging around day after day. Far from it.

Yep, the Wynns are working until the cows come. Haha! As someone who's spent time at a local cable access station, helping shoot shows, edit video, be the remote video/audio guy, do audio and the ever important graphics....I've seen the job, and if you're volunteering, like I was, it's wicked fun. Someone may have already mentioned, but I hope you have placed a reservation for Starlink Satellite service. Once they approve it for moving vehicles like RVs and boats, and once they get enough satellites up, it should prove to be a huge difference in your ability to communicate and also safety. Love everything about your videos. Top quality and professional. I work in episodic entertainment and your work is just as good, and considering the two person crew/talent and remote locations, likely better. Sometimes I don't know how you do it week in and week out and am thankful for the rest you both get when you take a week or two off. From various aspects of shooting, creating a story, editing, music, sound edit, VO, etc. All just really well done.

My wife and I as long time subscribers just became new patreons, and wanted to express how much we really like the thorough detail of the processing power you have chosen to do all that you do with the videos especially. ONE key point we discussed about your other setup. We were wondering if you guys were aware of how much your current setup of solar panels and LifePo4 was going to be such an ENORMOUS factor in how you could operate down the road. After losing multiple items especially the genset, looking back what an enormous decision to incur that expense when you did. We still marvel at how you have been able to operate for what….over 2 years?....the way you have under that setup. It really speaks VOLUMES for that decision and investment when you chose to make it. I can’t imagine how the addition of just one more crippling element in the area of energy management would have done to your already incredibly challenging situation from leaky windows to….well, hell, it’s too depressing to list what all you guys have had to deal with. I think you guys win the current definition of cruising…..”working on your boat in exotic places”. We have a 43 foot trawler and have lived on it for quite a few years for 6 months out of the year in the Bahamas so we are very familiar with boat projects and how untimely almost everyone of them are…..but the addition of doing it full time and in constant foreign ports and especially in covid lockdowns, you two are truly survivors. Our prayers and encouragement are with you in all of your journeys and especially in these challenging times. Please take care and continue to stay safe.

Sunday is my favorite day of the week because I know that I will see a new video from you two. After watching this video I have a whole new appreciation of the time that you put in for a 20 minute video. Wow, had no idea that it takes hours of work and the quality really shows in your videos.

Never really gave it much thought what it takes to produce a KZfaq channel with quality content once a week. But y’all do it. I just click on a video every Sunday , watch it, enjoy it and leave a 👍🏻And wait for the next one. Now I’ll appreciate them more. Thank you both for all of the hard work you do that allows us to share a little bit your world! 👍🏻

What a job with the media, just to get it right then the time needed to upload. On top of all of that there is route planning and sailing with watched to be done. I'm sure that 24 hours is not enough. What a great job all round and on a side note I'm now fully up to date with your sailing adventure.

You two are champs, having knowledge and experience in video editing work, I'm very impressed in the current technology your using. Not cheap I'm sure, but when I did my education, this technology was extremely expensive for an individual to handle. Your ability to produce great content shows your aptitude with all this tech, love it. Safe journey's

This is exceptional behind the scenes goodies. I love seeing the work flow and what process you use. The ROG hardware is in a class of its own and is always my top choice in any pick for hardware. Somewhere around 80% of the computer hardware that makes up the 7 PCs within arms reach of my workstation is all ASUS and ROG. I'm curious if you've ever considered building a full desktop into a cubby in the boat, they can get quite compact and being able to replace parts would seem a very coveted feature with the moisture exposure. There are also PC builds that completely submerge the motherboard and primary components into cooking oil which would eliminate moisture impact to components. I deeply wish some of us land lubbers could help you with editing but it would take a tremendous amount of uploading to get any useful help with the process. Sounds like a NAS, or Network Access Storage, might be a good idea, they are great for working with files between devices, massive storage potential, and having lots of built in redundancy with HDDs in RAID in case any might fail (hot swapping drives for healing the RAID). Never enough tech details! Jason is right about that lol.
