Moi personnellement j'adore les deux chanteuses énormément et j'ai trouvé une bonne occasion et chance pour Laura d'avoir la possibilité de chanter cette chanson sur la même scène et surtout avec Lara Fabian. Et c'est vrai aussi que leur style est vraiment différent et ne passe pas très bien ensemble. Mais ç'a été très réjouissant de les voir ensemble. 🎶

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. IMHO Both were better singing this song in solo than together in this duet. They probably didn’t find a good meeting point for their voice and vocal tone to shine simultaneously.

I'm sorry, but this is the worst Adagio I've ever heard. Laura sings in a cheap style and her microphone input in the mixer set to a minimum level in order to avoid overpowering Lara's voice. Everything today is about politics. Laura needs support, and Lara's influence in modern music is very strong ... It's sad to see how the most capable young classical voice, with enormous chances of becoming a diva, makes compromises for a career in music of mediocre rank.
