Of course she was involved and likely guilty but if u knew nothing about this case as a jury is supposed to it's all about exuding confidence and beleiveability as a witness or suspect in this case and perception the jury has of your testimony and she is confident and decisive in her responses and doesn't get rattled. Picture yourself in her position knowing you're guilty and you got to put on a believable act to 12 strangers answering pressing questions u can't tell the truth about because you're guilty. These people are going to decide your fate. If you think you could come off as confident in this situation on the stand then you're lieing. If she tripped up or was not confident she would probably be in jail now. She held her own up there. It has to be respected. You can convict someone of murder based on circumstantial evidence which is basically all they had on her. To the layman that's listened to podcasts and watches KZfaq 20/20 shows like you and I yes it's evident she's guilty but if u went in cold like the jury could you take someone's life based on phone calls alone that point to her guilt but without a smoking gun so to speak. Her testimony her I am certain played a part in the mistrial.

They just didn't have enough to convict her for murder. They just don't have strong enough evidence on her being involved unless adelsons have to put her in as part of it. IMO the biggest reason she had a hung jury is due to her testifying here when she didn't have to in addition to doing well thru cross examination and being confident. If she didn't get up there IMO she probably would have been convicted. The jury took this performance into account I'm certain of that.

Under the Fifth Amendment he cannot be made to testify. Neither could Magbanua, but she apparently didn't invoke the Fifth.

Wendis godfather is/was a long time state senator(Florida), Send. Weinstein. The Adelson and Weinstein family are 40 year close friends, with Wendi, Charlie grew up &have friendships with Weinstein children. As a long time state Senator, even if he had retired(or had passed away)at the time of Dan's murder and Adelson being suspected of involvement, there would no doubt be govt connections which the Adelsons can utilize and had probably been given preferential treatment and protection. At the time of the murder the FL Attorney General had publicly stated that the Adelsons we're not to have search warrants served by the DA in Tallahassee, he basically was antagonistic to law enforcement and blocked investigation of the Adelsons, for a few years until he either stepped down, died, was removed from his position...idk. But I do know that that particular person was a roadblock to proceedings to pursue the Adelsons as suspects in Dan's murder. But that person is no longer in that position and perhaps why the State prosecutors had finally been able to get an indictment for Charlie. However, the Adelsons probably still have connections in the FL govt and that's why she was so obnoxiously defiant at the prosecutor audacity to suggest that it's a possibility. Send Weinstein's son was/is a long time close family friend, and was Charlie's lawyer up until a few weeks ago.

UPDATE: 4/20/2022 Wendy and Charlie have both been indicted on 1st degree murder, solicitation of 1st degree murder and conspiracy to 1st degree murder. Being held without bond, presumably until trial. Finally hope justice will prevail.

The strangers thing occurred to me, all the time she couldnt recall anything while the prosecutor asked questions and everything she asked, she said I can't remember, she never did that with the defense and she answered every question and recalled everything the defenses asked. I think this was a significant issue for the 2 or 3 jurors who held out for not guilty. It was a wise move for the prosecution to arrest Charlie before the retrial, because if he remained uncharged the jury probably would have deadlocked again.

This young lady Katherine and June is did okay responding to some of the questions as witnesses on the stand. They did seem to be nervous about answering questions from an attorney about this case. Katherine could have avoided making snide remarks or questions what she knows! It good that the attorney lady corrected her. These young women Katherine Magabanua and June Umchinda got themselves mixed in an strange and odd situation and unusual circumstances. Katherine had been caught in the twisted relationship with someone who is a user-friendly to you! Who can not be trusted! You want to be in a relationship who is trustworthy and can be a real friend to you! These women need to make better choices on who they are involving themselves with.

It might be better for her children to be raised by a family member instead of parents who lack a conscience. The average decent person won't agree to commit a heinous crime.
