The NFL should give an award each year for the linebacker who simply comes the closest to even being worthy of mention in the same breath as L.T.

I met Lomas Brown twice, once at a Lions event focused on playing defense (I play linebacker and safety) and another at an nfl fan forum. I asked Lomas at the fan forum who the hardest player he ever had to block was. Without any hesitation, he said Lawrence Taylor. Now i see why

Lawrence Taylor didn't just sack or rush the QB only, he played the run great too n defended the pass at LB as well......best defensive player EVER!

Lomas was and ever shall be one of the greatest OTs to play the game, but LT was Superman. No single OL would ever be able to stop him. Lo gets credit for not being completely steamrolled every time. Dude was like an electromagnet to the ball and just didn't care what was in his way.

Simply the best. He changed the game. What great memories

Great video! Lomas was a pro bowl tackle, very good player but LT was just the most unstoppable force and disruptive game changer that the NFL ever witnessed. No disrespect to Dick Butkus, but it should be called the Taylor award. There will never be a complete defender like him that could take over a game by himself.

No jumping around and dancing, just business and clean tackling!

On almost all them plays, maybe except two, Lomas Brown held Lawrence Taylor to "two Mississippi!" Most LT's don't hold LT that long! Lomas Brown has Canton credentials! (7 Pro Bowls, 3 All Pro!) Those "lost battles" with Lawrence Taylor, alone, are good enough, in my book, to get into the Hall!

Lomas had over 40 pounds weight and 2 inches height advantage and was strong as f... and LT still wiped the floor with him. Freak athlete... will never see another. For a comparison at

As a life long Giants fan I want to first thank the Saints for taking George Rogers instead of LT and 2nd having a GM like George Young who recognized greatness right away when LT was at North Carolina.

Lawrence Taylor is the greatest defensive player in NFL history. It didn't matter who you put against him. It was no match.

no one closes on a target like LT did

Taylor to me has to be in the convo for best player of all time. He was incredible! Like watching a video game except he was real. I'm in awe of his will (he never looks tired) strength (he tosses Lomas around like a ragdoll) and speed (he gets to the QB so fast it's like he knows LT is close so hes watching him more than the routes he's throwing to)

LT is the reason I became a GIANTS fan! Yeah, they have been playing bad since winning the past SBs but hey can't win them all and the best game that I enjoyed was beating the Patriots and stopping the perfect record😎 thanks Mr Taylor for being the best linebacker and wish you could of played during that Super Bowl

Lol poor Lomas. Imagine getting ready for work and thinking ‘fuck, I’m going to be expected to contain Lawrence Taylor all day’ at that point, you pick up the phone and say ‘uhhh coach, I have the flu, can’t make it in today...’

My goodness. Barry Sanders is in these videos. This game was at least in 1989....LT's ninth year in the NFL.....still raising hell in the offensive backfield.
