@@pshort1848 Look at the maths of all the elections that Labour have won. When was the last time they got in thanks to the support of Scotland? Never happened in my lifetime. This was why Labour never stuck up for Scotland despite decades of support from the Scots electorally. No point, because winning in Scotland meant nothing to them. They were only ever interested in their popularity in England, because satisfying the English electorate was their route to power. That's why Scotland turned their back on Labour. It's also why Labour continues to ignore the Scottish electorate. Scotland gets their least talented candidates, is ignored in their manifesto, is derided even. Lamont famously bemoaned the fact Scottish Labour is treated as a branch office by the Westminster leadership.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson lied at the despatch box in parliament and never corrected his lies so according to the ministerial code, the PM should offer his resignation or be removed from office. I'm halfway through the Sue Gray Report, at the quarter-way mark I was livid! They seem to have partied every week if not every month like there was no tomorrow - any excuse for a jolly! Johnson attended quite a few of them however "brief" his stay: apparently he stayed for "12 minutes" at one gathering: not 11 or 13, but 12 minutes: did he use a stopwatch to time himself? And no chastising of staff from their leader for breaking rules - and boy did they know they were breaking them! They would leave through the backdoor after parties so as not to be seen; would call social gatherings "meetings" or "work events", with invites with the words "socially distanced" "covid safe" tacked on! It's a scandal!

As someone who doesn’t live anywhere near London, I miss your program and approach on your BBC program and am pleased this video has been shown on You Tube. It’s a sad day indeed for British values - honesty, trust, integrity and accountability. And the politicians wonder why the public is disillusioned and don’t engage with voting. It also highlights how outdated the antiquated adversarial political system (and building is). Surely if they are spending SO much money on the Houses of Parliament it would be sensible to use this opportunity to reform British politics (environment and approach) to try to move forward with more cooperation, collaboration, teamwork and integrity - both between and within the parties - for the collective wellbeing of the nation. It’s time politics grew up.

Why aren't journalists and opposition MPs asking these two simple questions: Did you receive a single invitation from your private secretary either by email or text, inviting you to any social gathering at number 10, especially those events investigated by the MET and Sue Grey? Secondly, if you did not receive a single invitation to any social event, especially the events investigated, did you liaise with your private secretary about said events and did you give him permission to send out invitations to staff to hold said events during lockdown? If the answer is no to either/both of those questions, then we need all phone and email trails between him and his secretary during lockdown. These 2 simple questions can categorically prove he lied to the house when he said he had no idea parties were taking place. There's no wriggle room, beyond him refusing to give his phone and email conversations with his secretary - which the committee should demand.

Can you imagine them running a Downing Street where staff were routinely rude and abusive towards cleaners and custodians? Can imagine them running a Downing Street where it would ever be acceptable to party until 4am the night before the Queen attends the funeral of Prince Philip, a funeral where she has to sit alone due to the same covid restrictions your frat house has ignored throughout? If the answer is no, then that is exactly why Johnson needs to go, he has demeaned the office of Prime Minister perhaps beyond repair.
