Thank you for this video - I mastered mattress stitch seaming many years ago and achieve an invisible seam but only on stocking stitch. Garter and reverse stocking stitch never quite matched up correctly. Now I know the importance of frowns and smiles - I can turn my frown upside down x

Thank you for this, I use mattress stitch on the knit side, but my latest project has a purl/knit check pattern, so there are three rows of each, alternating. The next challenge is working out joining the knit block on one piece to the purl block on the other! But this has given me a great start, thanks from the uk. 😊

Very helpful and thank you. I have knitted a whole cardigan reverse side before and I struggled to put it all together because the stitches blended to my untrained eye. This is every encouraging to attempt it again

I avoid seaming reverse stockinette by either making a single selvedge stitch in stockinette, or, if I forget to do that, laddering down the selvedge stitch and changing it to stockinette (works well as long as your yarn isn’t sticky, fluffy or splitty).

Thank you, Suzanne. Your tutorials are very helpful. Would you please show us how to pM4 and pM3? I am beginning a sweater pattern, and I have not come across these stitches before. I know "pm" means "place marker". I don't know what the number after "pm" refers to. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I am thinking that in your pattern there are several markers and your designer has labeled them. Such as m1, m2, m3, m4, etc. So when you see pM4, is means that you are placing marker #4. To identify it in relation to the other markers. Hope this helps.

Hello. I am currently working on a project in which most of the rows use reverse stockinette but with a garter selvage edge. The rows will be seamed to garter stitch cast-on or bind-offs. I've been watching your series on seaming to try to figure out how to accomplish this. Do you have any particular recommendations for this particular scenario? I've been working on this project for 2 years now and I'd love to give it a nicer seam than a whip stitch or slip stitch.
