You can tell how privileged Dhar Mann really is when his only definitions of "poor" are either: having an old tablet😢 or literally being homeless.

by that logic im poor because i own a 1984 commodore 64 and im 19 *sobs in being poor because my family was able to afford hardware not everyone has, or even wants* sobs in having a phone worth $600 we traded our last phone in for, instead of the latest phone that costs 1200. You dont need top of the line. Save money, save time, or you WILL become poor. he couldve flipped that video to be about people who overspend lacking money In fact im even lucky having a $600 phone, the one i had before was only worth $75 and id happily still be using it if the battery and screen werent going out, but that last phone got a good ~8 years of use, and i expect the one i have getting more use, having about 3 years already

The point is that in this universe, everyone bullies for anything. There's apparently no one that's nice just because they are. It's like everyone's inherently mean unless they are different. Kids watching that might feel like everyone actually bullies people inherently for everything and then feel more self conscious about being different.

One problem with Dahr Mann is that he grew up wealthy and these videos are told from his point of view. That is why so many characters are rewarded financially for not being an AH to people. In everyone else's world that does not happen. Dhar Mann should hire writers to make these videos better instead of writing himself. These videos are made for children, but they are not good for children to watch. Children view the world in a black and white manner and adults should encourage them to think differently. Dhar Mann encourages kids to continue thinking in black and white good and evil type of way.

Half of Dhar Mann's positive messages are "don't judge that person by how they look, they might secretly be rich". He doesn't teach that all people have inherent value and worth and deserve to be treated well...instead his lessons usually come down to "being rich and successful equals good person, don't make fun of person until you find out whether they are rich or will becomes rich".

It's life lessons from the perspective of a sociopath. Two glaring examples that come to mind for me are the "don't bully autistic kids" and the "don't be racist towards Asians" videos. In the former, a kid learns to stop bullying the autistic kid in school because he's actually awesome at a lot of things, therefore it's beneficial for him to be nice to the kid. As for the latter, the lady learns not to be racist towards Asian people because the same Asian person who received her bile is the doctor who treated her daughter who got covid. As an aside, the latter video was made extremely irresponsibly. It's from May of 2020, and the only person shown wearing a mask is the covid patient who takes it off when other people enter the room.
@joshduriden519
@joshduriden519 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sugarman96 That's it exactly, the moral seems to always be "don't be bad because you might miss out on benefits", rather than focusing on empathy and connection. Rather then focusing on the benefits that you would get from the autistic kid, it would be better to have on of the bullies see the effect it has on the kid, like maybe he sees the kid breakdown or start hurting himself and repeating the words they used to bully him. Forcing the bully to reflect on his actions, the damage it's causing, and to develop empathy. Then end the video with the bully interfering to stop the bullying, and taking the opportunity to start over and understand the kid.

I dunno doing his job and reaching out to the kids who seem to have issues with the subject? Also, it's a MATH test. How would he even know that he cheated on the test if the answers are literally always the same for everyone (provided you do the problems correctly, obviously). I think he was just curious who would actually go through that trouble to cheat instead of study the textbook. He had this test that was legit copy and pasted year after year(a pretty common thing at my school actually) so he never had to change the website, it was just the same exact questions, with incorrect answers. Assuming Dhar Mann videos run off SOME sort of logic it was probably that. My mom’s boomer colleague literally did this. She taught math and was an anti-masker and when a test came up the first time she panicked and didn’t understand literally even how to attach the test to an email let alone digitize the Q&A. So she drove the tests around to each kid and made their parents come out and listen to her explain how to proctor the tests while she was maskless. (Edit: this is a small, religious school that chose to stay open unless known cases presented, and this was during one of the 2 week quarantines following an outbreak.)

@L7vanmatre

Depends on school/community. If absolutely no adults are around and there's mostly kids with parents who... Let's put it this way, have "mastered the craft of avoiding contact with your child whilst preserving their survival", lots of kids will absolutely jump in and hurt anyone they are able to, so long as the idea of getting away with it is plausible enough to them. Sometimes, there's no hero that's gonna step in and save the day for you. Sometimes, you're going to scream out for help to deaf ears. The right thing to do when those times happen, is so much more valuable of a lesson than "really, really hope for someone to fix everything for you". No, sometimes YOU need to fix your own problems. Any informational help to find the good solution sooner, can make a big difference to fixing your problems. This is my experience as a 9-year-addict who could've broken away in the first year if he knew what he knew now. As far as I've seen, Dhar Mann is some born-rich guy who decided he wanted a KZfaq channel. Wealthy as him, it's easy to pay actors. It's easy to get formulaic, low-effort scripts written for you. All you need to do is think of a title that appeals to the lowest common denominator (everyone would love to imagine their oppressors instantly regretting their actions), and if you want, write yourself as the hero celebrity everyone loves, to save everyone's day. It's an investment that likely partially exists to make him feel better about himself. $70 shirts with kids thinking that people love Dhar Mann and they should too. That's likely a pretty solid return on that investment. Eh, pretty long post here, sorry about that. I've just had a lot of thoughts stewed up about this guy since I first found him, and I never really had any decent opportunity to talk about it. Thanks for reading if you did read through my ramblings. God bless.

Keep in mind that the bullies call it *last year's* Animal Crossing shirt, so it’s clearly meant to be a New Horizons shirt, and they likely didn't know the name of any of the games, if they even knew that there were any other games besides the one that was really trendy the year prior.
